I'm more prone to writing down stories that are erotic/sexual. I have a few, and I had more fun/arousal doing that than I would have trying to make AI images to illustrate the words.

No, it doesn't make it useless. From a purely visual standpoint, it could certainly be arousing. Visuals alone aren't always enough, though. For a quick and meaningless lark, sure, but I tend to like a bit more depth to my fantasies than that.
