A ★★★★ review of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (2026)
Schoenbrun has such a weird meta commentary on identity within media consumption and ethereal quality that makes me wonder if anything is ever real. Not as good to me as ISTTG but loved a lot in this one. Visually stunning, great double and triple entendre and while it may be a little on the nose ("la petite mort" being the most old school of expressions for orgasm) the writing holds so much meaning and fun analogies that it tickled the brain overthinking the meta narrative of everything.
