He basically only needs Persistence so that he can't get one-shotted, because there's a handful of very very nasty 500k damage blobs hiding around steel path, and with no shields he just instantly folds to them :( (Also, Persistence+Grace on Nidus is just Immortal, which is chill lol)

Yeah... I only really use Persistence on Nidus atm, so I don't have a lot of experience with it. And Nidus has a HUGE health pool. Excal does not, and that makes it very... attention-requiring to use. I'll probably run it with Arcane Blessing in the future to mitigate that :3

Yeah, WW and BR aren't accounted for in the numbers. If WW e.g. gives enough SC for an extra proc that doubles the DoT tick damage, which would win. This is specifically comparing without any combo and exactly 1 proc. Like I said, WITH combo, WW + BR will 100% win. But you don't always have combo

I will probably choose between them depending on the mission. Persistence definitely has better Energy (and you can drop Narrow Minded for PC instead, so better Range too), so it has several upsides. It just feels a bit less comfy, imo.

Tried some Persistence too. It's definitely better for ETA-level content, but I find it less comfy than my build for easier stuff. With OG/shields, you get a loud alert when you're suddenly taking "real" damage. With Persistence you have to be constantly paying attention instead.

So to me, Gas+CO feels comfier than WW+BR, since you can easily prime lots of status for the occasional chonky enemy. (especially in open-world and similar with low enemy density) Elec+WW+BR definitely has higher potential dmg when combo is maxed though, so both have their place.

I've been trying out pure Elec, and it felt noticeably weaker in non-survival/constant enemies missions. My earlier math didn't include the weapon's on-hit damage. When we do that, the Gas variant comes out ahead by quite a bit in instant-damage-per-swing🤔 (Crit is mult. with all this, ignoring)

So you're basically choosing between full up-front damage and lingering AoE with Gas, vs. higher maximum damage with full combo with BR+WW+Pure Elec.

Chromatic Blade counts as "regular" base damage (it's boosted by Pressure Point), so I _think_ it doesn't get applied in the Elemental Bonus? Under that assumption: We can ignore all the other factors and look at just the total mult. bonus dmg we get to the procs from base dmg and elem. bonus:

Just tested in Simulacrum and you DO get the gas cloud even if it one-shots, because it's the "original" hit that creates it. (Elemental Rounds is an Extra Hit and that extra hit doesn't get applied if the "original" hit one-shots, though, that is correct.)

Yeah, I agree, purple shards + WA just completely destroy everything, so there's lots of room for QoL. Would have to run real numbers and It Depends™, but I think Gas is better than WW + BR...? Gas + regular Elmst. is a mult. 95% dmg AoE hit ON APPLY. (Also lets you just... ignore combo! yay!)

Yup yup. Since my build has shields, I've been using a turbo-primer Manifold Bond hound with Guardian, it's crazy how much status it can pump out. Magus Repair is just a flat-out Better Magus Nourish tho, I think :P

I use two Azure Shards for Health Regen. Other good choices include Amber Energy effectiveness or Violet Orb conversion, or more Violet Crit Damage. If you don't have Violet shards, you can use Crimson Crit Damage instead, but Violet ones are literally twice as good, so it's a big upgrade.

Melee Elementalist is better than Galvanized because it has more Status Damage and we don't need the extra Status Chance, IMO. (Gas > 💥because it deals a tick immediately when applied.) You need to set your Energy color so that Chromatic Blade gives ⚡ damage.

Doesn't include 🦠🧪🧲, so you can use a priming weapon/companion for those to soften up very tough targets. Usually not needed though. Survivability tips: Slash Dash gives short invuln. Have Magus Repair on operator. Steal Overguard via Circumvent. Have a Dante/Styanax friend.

I'm intentionally ignoring Combo due to WA. If you don't have WA, you can replace Gas with ⚡ and add Blood Rush. Use Prim/Sec. Dexterity and/or Naramon for more Combo duration. If you put WA over 2 instead, Furious Javelin is a potential upgrade, but I'm not sure what to swap for it.

Circumvent is only useful if there's lots of Eximus enemies. Otherwise, I typically use Guardian + Grace. Could build shield-gating instead, but then I'd have to stop using Umbral mods ON UMBRA. Sacrificial mods on blade could swap with Galvanized Steel + Blood Rush, but again. UMBRA!
