Started to do a collab on a multiverse crossover infection AU with a buddy of mine, and lord... I love working on horror as much as I love watching and reading it, but it is disturbing. We're called the AU, 'The Blight' so that's fun! TW; Blood, Gore, General Infection AU Warnings

Anyway, it was Halloween ship art for the record and I was suddenly hit with the memory of an ex friend saying, "You know... I really hate you. I wish you'd die. But I'll kill you if you leave." And having to cope with that.

Living with C-PTSD be like "hello, you didn't know this was a trigger, goodbye!" and not knowing what to do with it afterwards.

I was working on art and made myself sad 😔 I hate accidentally doing that to myself.

Day 3 of consistent migraine sucks... On one hand, it's nice that it's cooling down after record breaking heat. On the other, the pressure migraines are killing me. At least caffeine helps make it tolerable.

It might take a long time. It may seem hopeless at times. But give it time, and with consistent effort, and good support, I think you will be able to bask in the garden you surround yourself with.

I'm yapping but ya know, I hope you get the point if you read all my yapping. I think, cultivating joy and happiness is kinda like growing a garden. It's slow, intentional, and takes weeding out what would suffocate the garden over many years until it suddenly blooms.

That and like... At this point in my life, I am surrounded by exclusively adults and we all got lives, many are married and/or have kids, we got busy lives. There is more important shit in the world than if you personally can perform at being a person 100% perfectly cause news flash, no one can.

People who see the human being who is more than perfectly practiced emotions will always mean more to me, ya know? Let yourself be human, you're allowed to be flawed, just try to be aware and don't try to hurt folks on purpose, and be ready to apologize when you learn you have, ya know?

Not to be like "anger and lashing out is justified", it never is and I try to make a habit of calming down and apologizing when I can recognize a line has been crossed. But having people get its not personal and willing to see me try to be better with communication will always mean the world.

Idk... I got that whole post concussion/ TBI/ Brain Damage thing where I got anger issues. I'm really good at keeping it strictly verbal and removing myself when it gets bad, but I know I'm pretty transparent when I'm pissed. People know if I don't like 'em. And I am sorry for that much.

I think, these days, that's what people meam when they say stuff like "if you can't handle me at my worst", it's not meant to excuse the poor behavior in low moments, but more ask for understanding while you calm down and try to be better and get to a better place.

I can be kinda abrasive at times, especially when I feel like I've hit a limit with things I can handle. And then struggle communicating in a way that is 100% fair to 100% of everyone. Sometimes I need a minute of not being okay, saying so, and then apologizing to figure out what went wrong.

I can at the very least be grateful for the folks I have in my life these days. My friends, moots, and otherwise are all pretty healthy I feel like. I don't feel pressure to mask all the time, and like I can say the mean thing™️ and trust they'll help talk through it with me if needed.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, I think it always has been. But depression always seeps in and begs me to mourn the people lost on that day instead... Being a prisoner to depression is agony sometimes when you just want joy and compassion.

IDK who needs to hear this but; Your identity doesn't need to remain static all your life. It's completely normal and healthy to fluctuate throughout your life, and that does not make you any less valid.

One of my fave one shots, we didn't say at all what we were picking and I kid you not, all except one of us chose to play a Gloomstalker Ranger, and we were ridiculously powerful as a squad because of it lol. It was hilarious.

We also care a LOT about our characters, stories, and RPing even for one shots. So I know even with short things, I'm gonna get to meet some real fun characters lol. We had "Oops! all Bard!" once and we were all a different brand of Bard and it was so chaotic and fun lol

Sorry about the yapathon!! I uh, I like checking out new systems, books, addons, and homebrew that me and my main group find, and giving my personal take on them. Part of what I like about my group is that we are never shy about testing out new shit, makes for a good time too.

My group has a lot of TTRPG experience collectively with varying interests, and we were pretty invested in what quirky characters we could make and meet in this system frankly. It offered everything we care about, and made for a good time cause of it.

My only real critic so far is that I think people who like more hardcore games might find it boring (which isn't an issue for me or the group I play with.) And I think the class system, called Ways, is a little too simplified. But that's such a minor complaint imo.

If I'm to rate it like I have others, I give it a solid 8/10. It's a lot more simplified, even compared to DnD 5e & 5.5e, but that's not inherently a bad thing! It's basically impossible to TPK. If you love LoZ, especially it's more quirky side quests, I think you'd really enjoy this system.

They're super transparent about being inspired by Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Ni No Kuni, and Ghibli. The influences show, but entirely respectfully out of love for them sincerely. They even has an easy way to homebrew your own species if you don't want to play a base Kin they have available!

If you're interested in taking a peak at Twilight Sword, it's a simplified system, they just released their books this year. My main group are kinda in an in-between for main games so we've been checking out new systems and this is a really fun one imo!

I love finding systems that let me make spoopy cute designs, like Twilight Sword. This is Eye, they're a Strix, which is a species admittedly inspired by Black Mages in Final Fantasy (Think like Vivi in FF9) And my buddy already drew them with their Kedi (right piece) lol

Important note! The final boss art was a piece done by one of the players who helped me in the background, given they had 15+ years of DM experience. I fuckin LOVE his art but he deadass has no online presence. I gave him the character notes, he brought it to life for me.

Anyway, have a peak at the absolute abomination that was the final boss. Since they befriended/dragged along both Officer Grimhopps and Grubnar as NPCs uh...they got to see the two of them blend together as they fought to keep the world alive. Heartbreaking boss fight. Nightmare fuel too.

Despite the ending being the end of the world and characters, it was nice to see each of them embrace or fight against the inevitable in their own way. They really ended up embodying the stages of grief AND deadly sins all at once. Very interesting to see!

I was overly ambitious with Finis Paradisus anyway, but it was a good time! Love a little bit of a cozy town turning into a meta horror as the world dissolves with each completed quest.

That said, imma quiz them if there was any critic they could give me, what'd they like, what did they not so much, ect, ect,

I really got some of the best players too. They responded to most of the world really peacefully and were super engaged. They set up a couple on a date. They bonded with a homeless Goblin. They got into a rivalry with the local sheriff. They really helped bring my little world to life.

I concluded my first (short) campaign I've run this week and I feel both sad, and that itch/drive to get feedback and do more!! I really liked the little world I created, and loved seeing my players form bonds of all kinds with the NPCs of the world.

Thanks man!! Glad yo be back haha. But that break was nice tbh... It's nice coming back and seeing people were BUSY though! Love all the lore drops and music !
