Symbolic image of the state of #academic #publishing: The original study does not contain much detail (most certainly not a single word of #humour), and the #replication study is locked up behind a #paywall, on which #impactfactor, #peerreview, #plagiarism […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
A screenshot of a paywall in front of an academic paper that (presumably) has no content beyond its metadata, as it is supposed to represent a replication of a (non-paywalled) original paper that showed an empty page as evidence for the unsuccessful self-treatment of writer's block. For background, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unsuccessful_Self-Treatment_of_a_Case_of_%22Writer%27s_Block%22 .

Ich glaube, jemand vom Team der #BiblioCon sollte sich mal angucken, was WAVE (#WebAccessibility Evaluation Tool) zur #BiblioCon2026-Webseite zu sagen hat: wave.webaim.org/report#/https://202… #Barrierefreiheit

Achieving more together: free knowledge as a bridge for collaboration between Wikimedia and other volunteer initiatives

Language: English
This session explores collaborations between the Wikimedia ecosystem and other volunteer-driven communities. We'll examine how
diverse initiatives, from climate action to cultural preservation, can leverage Wikimedia's resources for knowledge sharing. Many groups
already collect and share valuable information, like indigenous farming techniques or cultural heritage. We'll discuss how to bridge these
efforts with Wikimedia projects, maximizing impact. Despite existing connections, many opportunities remain untapped. This workshop
aims to spark new partnerships, empowering participants to explore practical collaborations and expand their reach through Wikimedia
platforms.
