the most cited journal: archives of sexual behavior, founded in 1971 "for the prevention of transssexualism." it has faced numerous controversies over the years and its editorial board is stacked with researchers who are hostile to trans people

wtf
Large-scale efficacy trials of lenacapavir—which Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico participated in—have shown one dose of the drug, given as two shots under the skin, offers nearly 100% protection against infection for 6 months. This is a potential game changer in HIV control, scientists say. The drug costs $14,000 per dose in the United States, but Gilead is offering lenacapavir for an HIV-prevention strategy known as pre-exposure prophylaxis (LEN PrEP) at no profit to 120 low- and middle-income countries. (It has not revealed the exact price, but reportedly charges $60 per dose.) But Gilead says Latin American countries can pay more than that and has been negotiating with governments in the region.

this is a self-contradicting editorial trying to pass itself off as scientific fact. how disingenuous …
Viewpoint. Science does not exist in a vacuum, but interfaces with the broader world in ways that are not always overt but are becoming increasingly complex. This includes new transformative technologies, digital disruption, and emerging/growing global issues that require integration of diverse perspectives (e.g. social, environmental, economic). Options for how we communicate, discuss and debate topics relevant to the broader scientific community and other stakeholders (e.g. government, industry, the public) have diversified in recent years and will continue to do so. More traditional approaches focused on publishing peer–reviewed papers in professional journals are largely unidirectional and somewhat static – i.e. passive rather than actively promoting useful discussion and debate beyond the specifics of the science, and in fact generally don’t actively seek to engage across domain boundaries. Viewpoint articles are topical editorials linked to an online curated platform to enable scientists and others to engage transparently in dialogue around issues raised in the editorials.

i also found many letters to stoller from people who had read his writing and resisted his pathologies. these messages offer a window into history that often gets overlooked - trans people not just as patients but also active dissenters from sexological taxonomies made without their input
“I am a transvestist, trans-sexualist, transmutation; These are the medical terms describing my Medical Condition. However! to the uninformed; such as the self-righteous they call me Bad; the smug call me Evil; and the so-called Wise call me Sick; these are terms or similar such terms that are applied to me — that is of course if the language is kept clean; but what difference does it make to me what anyone thinks or says about me; particularly in such a matter whereby they may not be familiar with my aspect of Human Endeavor.” [emphasis original]

in 2020, robert trivers published a sham study on the evolutionary genetics of "transgendered belief." the project was proposed and funded by epstein because "people" would be interested. this will always be a part of trivers' scientific legacy. link for screenshot: www.justice.gov/epstein/file...

[highlight added] I thought that you might want to focus on transgender biology . people would be interestsesd and i would fund. [highlight end] I am a true beileiver in your talents. my understanding and of course it could be incorrect. was that honor killing work was detrimental for you. as was the knee hip ratio in sprinters etc.. little public interest where the genetics of exceptional and transgender would be helpful. I m always o f the view that i should do no harm. and said I wouldnt give you drugs. if you asked because it was bad for you. giving you money for subjects that would be in my strong view detrimental to your future. creates a problem. you said you would get back to me and then told me that chapman had offered you work. In my view. you were telling me that others would support your honor killing etc. you then asked about the markets and i said sit tight. we can talk at anytime

important to add that studies of queer and trans health is also being censored - at rates comparable to work on vaccine hesitancy
chart header reads: Fields Under Fire. Some research fields have been heavily affected by grant terminations implemented by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) under President Donald Trump. More than half of the active, NIH-funded projects about gender and sexual minorities (LGBT+) have been cancelled.
chart #1 shows that 50.6% of grants containing the terms "LGBT/LGBTQ/LGBTQ+" in the title or abstract were terminated.
chart #2 shows that 45.8% of grants containing the term "transgender" in the title or abstract were terminated.
chart #3 shows that 45.5% of grants containing the term "vaccine hesitancy" in the title or abstract were terminated.
chart #4 shows that 3.4% of grants containing the terms "HIV" or "AIDS" in the title or abstract were terminated.

likewise, i am getting to the end of Itranssexuality'—need again only to
choose venue and adjust style—have had a lot of fun with the attraction of the new morph(s)—have your cake and eat it too—a woman with a dick—i.e. if you as a heterosexual male and have a minor desire to suck a dick then
what better organism to do it with than a transsexual? 'she' will smell
like a woman, be softer and more hairless like a woman and may, to some
degree, actually resemble one morphologically—leaving the dick for you to enjoy in a feminine setting

one way that might make sense is if you made the one-year contract a

your Foundation but it does set up a modus annual gift which can support me for, say, the next two years after this one, at which point i should have finished the proposed topics and perhaps more
here is wishing you all the best at whatever you are up to including

another bit from the texts between the uva board of visitors: one member (steve long) requested that the resolution include "minors" with every reference to "gender affirming care" ... which was not incorporated. during the meeting wetmore objected to changes in language
[text from steve long to rachel sheridan]

This resolution is worded only one time about minors in the introduction. The word minors needs to be inserted ANYWHERE the resolution mentions Gender Affirming care. Paragraphs 7,8,9,10

Otherwise it implies all gender affirming treatment in my opinion???[text from douglas wetmore to rachel sheridan]

typed poem titled "REVOLUTIONARY LETTER #63":

check Science: whose interest does it serve?
whose need to perpetrate
mechanical dead (exploitable) universe
 instead of living cosmos?

whose dream those hierarchies: planets & stars
blindly obeying fixed laws, as they desire
us, too, to stay in place
whose interest to postulate

they've agreed to implement guidance (linked) that bondi released in july. the guidance is pretty clear that trans inclusion violates civil rights law. bathroom and dorm bans (at minimum) are likely www.justice.gov/ag/media/140...
While compelled segregation is generally impermissible, failing to maintain sex-separated athletic competitions and intimate spaces can also violate federal law. Federally funded institutions that allow males, including those self-identifying as "women," to access single-sex spaces designed for females-such as bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, or dormitories-undermine the privacy, safety, and equal opportunity of women and girls. Likewise, permitting males to compete in women's athletic events almost invariably denies women equal opportunity by eroding competitive fairness. These policies risk creating a hostile environment under Title VII, particularly where they compromise women's privacy safety, or professional standing, and can violate Title IX by denying women access to the full scope of sex-based protections in education. To ensure compliance with federal law and to safeguard the rights of women and girls, organizations should affirm sex-based boundaries rooted in biological differences.

so the university of virginia has just agreed to apply federal guidance which states that trans inclusion in "single-sex spaces" can violate federal law. here's the relevant language from bondi's guidance:

hart was also a writer who critiqued american society, including the practice of medicine. his life was prolific but his story is often overlooked in both medical and queer circles. read more about his life here! queersciencelab.beehiiv.com/p/trans-scie... 3/3
"The ugly things that have grown up in medicine are the result of the ugliness and falsity of society as a whole, of our American preoccupation with success and making money, of our concentration of effort on the production of things rather than their use for a fuller human life. These things are not the fault of the individual physician; and neither can they be remedied by him. So long as the American people are permeated with the spirit of 'I'm going to get mine, no matter how,' just so long will that attitude filter into all the professions." Dr. Alan L. Hart

hard to overstate how much anti-trans scientists lost their minds over this ioc-funded study
Researchers whose findings have cast doubt on a competitive advantage for transgender women athletes appear to have been excluded from an International Olympic Committee working group tasked with creating a new policy on female participation.

That includes the authors of a 2024 study funded by the IOC that found transgender athletes might actually be at a competitive disadvantage, and urged caution in imposing participation bans.

“I was not included. I’ll let you extrapolate as to why,” one of the researchers told USA TODAY Sports in an email confirming they were not part of the IOC’s Protection of the Female Category Working Group and had not been asked to participate.

as part of a proposed settlement to restore ucla's federal grants, the feds want the university to declare that trans people don't exist and to stop providing health care to trans adolescents...
The more than 7,300-word proposal outlines a three-year agreement that calls on UCLA to:

Make five years of payments — $200,000 annually — and set up a $172,000 fund for people with claims of civil rights violations.
Ensure foreign students who are “anti-Western” will not be admitted.
Pay for all costs of the settlement, including the fee for an outside monitor.
Annually release demographic data for hires as well as students who have applied or have been admitted, broken down by “race, color, grade point average, and performance on standardized tests.”
Make a public statement declaring that transgender people’s identities are no longer recognized.
End gender-affirming care for minors at medical facilities.
Give the government access to “all UCLA staff, employees, facilities, documents, and data related to the agreement” not protected by attorney-client privilege. The document shows signs of being hastily put together. Nouns and verbs occasionally do not match in tense. There are references to the “president” of UCLA, but the top campus administrator, Julio Frenk, is a “chancellor.” A sentence about medical facilities references the “Feinberg School of Medicine,” which is at Northwestern University.

"health secretary upset that centers for disease control and prevention is preventing disease, fighting tooth decay, and promoting bodily autonomy"
“What I will say is President Trump has very ambitious hopes for the CDC right now,” Kennedy said on the Fox News show “Fox & Friends.” “CDC has problems. We saw the misinformation coming out of Covid, they got the testing wrong, they got the social distancing, the masks, the school closures that have done so much harm to the American people.

“Today, on the CDC’s website right now, they list the 10 top advances, the 10 greatest advances in medical science and one of them is abortion, another is fluoridation, and another is vaccines. So we need to look at the priorities of the agency.

pretty wild (but also entirely unsurprising) that a science agency is mandating an unscientific definition of sex
Researchers inside and outside the agency “shall not use NIH funds to request, collect, or disseminate information related to gender,” states the version of the policy seen by The Chronicle, which could change. However, data on sex can be gathered — provided that the used definitions of sex reflect the Trump administration’s view that there are only two sexes, female and male, and they are determined at birth and unchangeable.

setting aside that this is a poorly written executive order, it sure sounds like trans people are no longer eligible for federal grants
(i) Discretionary awards must, where applicable, demonstrably advance the President’s policy priorities.

(ii) Discretionary awards shall not be used to fund, promote, encourage, subsidize, or facilitate:

(A)  racial preferences or other forms of racial discrimination by the grant recipient, including activities where race or intentional proxies for race will be used as a selection criterion for employment or program participation;

(B)  denial by the grant recipient of the sex binary in humans or the notion that sex is a chosen or mutable characteristic;

(C) illegal immigration; or

(D) any other initiatives that compromise public safety or promote anti-American values.

not to distract from important points about the normalization of scientific misinformation but i chuckled at "furin cleavage sites"
"In addition to not being aware of their own negativity bias, most people don’t know much about these particular scientific fields. So if the faux “expert” begins talking about furin cleavage sites or 80 percent desistance, the average person is likely to take these technical-sounding arguments at face value, since they cannot determine the veracity of these claims themselves. As a result, both editors and audiences may come away feeling like they learned a lot from the author when, in reality, they were spoon-fed a one-sided rendition of the story."

us v skrmetti: scotus relies on some twisted logic to take health care from trans adolescents. conveniently ignores that a "qualifying diagnosis" is not the issue at hand. sb1 does not prevent a diagnosis, it prevents a treatment on the basis of one's sex assigned at birth
"The Court declines to address whether Bostock’s reasoning reaches beyond the Title VII context—unlike the employment discrimination at issue in Bostock, changing a minor’s sex or transgender status does not alter the application of SB1. If a transgender boy seeks testosterone to treat gender dysphoria, SB1 prevents a healthcare provider from administering it to him. If his biological sex were changed from female to male, SB1 would still not permit him the hormones he seeks because he would lack a qualifying diagnosis."

Advocates say giving ICE’s Enforcement and Removals office, which oversees deportations, the ability to DNA-test families would pave the way for the administration to separate children from the adults who care for them. Last week, Senator Jon Ossoff, a Georgia Democrat, wrote a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem outlining what he called “grave concerns” over recent incidents in which children were separated from their primary caregivers.
