Alex has a mountain of skills to shape into something smaller but maybe more focused.

Rolling similar abilities into a cohesive whole i still like it, had to do something similar with starship rules last week. And to get from 80 to 50 you're going to likely need more. I also like the inclusion of everyman skills, not everything has to be a speciality.

So I received my eBook copy of Starfinder 2e Tech Core Monday, downloaded it Tuesday, and have been making some notes over on the website. I'm starting with Starships and wil probably backfill the sections later. evilrobotgames.com/starfinder-2...

I keep seeing threes lately, there's a stat out there that you can store four things in working memory so keeping things down to three things to know about dvergr or anyone else is handy.

Jim has been talking about Not the Transformers for almost as long as i've known him. Between Jacob and Jim, I think it's going to be something pretty cool.

I have a number of The Great Courses on London, Dickens, Victorian England which have given me insight but I also think I coild just start dropping small books anytime and not keep hoarding notes and reference material. I don't need a tapestry, a neat Lil piece will do to start.

When nothing is working for Sci-fi, write steampunk, when westerns won't do, read the genres, listen to audiobooks, consume things on my plex. Buy books, and courses which are half procrastination disguised as research. Then write something small a stat block, description, lore. Order more art.

That sucks, maybe spend a few minutes deciding what fair market rates are and finding an invoice form you like. 26 years and you're the only one who know how it works. I used to overcomment my code for future me, but that's not my job anymore.

So we've got two shifters right now and some deliberatuon over how much feat tax unlocks their abilities. PF2e has a sort of minimum amount of ancestry feats, but better shifter 2 or 3 doesn't have to be among them.
120
Evil Robot Games @evilrobotgames.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Interesting, Alex considers whether all shapeshifters of one ancestry will need every ability or put them in a bucket for shapeshifters while leaving more focus for ancestry specific choices. Jim and I were having lots of ancestry ability talks recently. If you like BTS game design read on.

Jim and i are trying to figure out why this isnt a silver beat seller yet, it's over 100 confirmed sales, but the badges are never that cut and dry. It's a good book, with free bonus content and some things we are polishing for a second book.

Unfortunately I hadn't sent Jacob any of the reference images yet because I was off playing bridge command. The idea was to show that a working ship had catwalks and ladders to the top turret, but later we'll also get to crew with climbing harnesses working outside the outer skin.

Spent a fantastic week in space, well 14 hours of missions at @bridgecommand.bsky.social with 8 other Starcruiser folks and we had a blast. If you can get to London it's a great interactive experience. Fans of other bridge simulators get yourselves there now.

@jacobblackmon.bsky.social gave me this turnover for the inside of an airship's support structure and hydrogen cells on Thursday and I was probably busy flying a starship when it landed. Still more great work from Jacob.

It is the perfect plan; hand in the unfinished film, for whatever reason, steal it, claim insurance and sue to company that had it stolen from them 👍 Only, the hired help breaks a leg on the job, so Cage needs to (reluctantly) go in there himself and steal it himself. 2/3

Matt brought us a high cliffside sky-fishing village for my "everything flies" fantasy setting. There's docks for airships and sky whales, wyverns, dragons and more. Working title obviously.

Explaining this to my wife, it's clear the first room was a multi-table tournament style game. Any party could activate any machine to forward their goals. Time heists as far as the eye can see.

All skills in the normal world had metaphysical equivalents. I assume you could jump to different realms of existence with different devices like Fringe parallel worlds maybe.

Evil Robot Games @evilrobotgames.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
The first place was a brightly lit modern room, the other realm room was a dimmer yellow lit 1960s house. I assume the different devices went to different times and had different time limits based on total capacity and previous use.

Had a dream I was at a game with a bunch of devices of different makes, and dozens of folks in a big room I activated a toaster oven sized device and maybe 8 players were transported to a living room around a table. The GM lpoked at an alarm clock and said we had 35 seconds back in time

"HERE. YOU GET ONE ELF ANCESTRY. THAT'S IT. ADD WHATEVER TOPPINGS YOU WANT!" I love it, too many games do say our elves are different, and too many all feel the same. In our house scifi setting, we color coded space elves' skin based on trace elements in their atmosphere. A little bit Heavy Metal.

Jim talks about this world and the idiosyncrasies of a hollow earth meets Conan vibe, with damned foul sorcerers and men of action from our world that end up there. I hope you all enjoy reading and playing there as much as he enjoys bringing this setting to life.

In the adventure paths, Paizo had a rundown the GM needed to know, the meat and potatoes in the middle, then any fiction and new monsters or NPCs in the back. Maybe kickoff with a longish journal entry elevator pitch, then short one every chapter, extra goes in the back with choose your own lore.

Hey, #TTRPG pals, help me out here. One of the projects on my slate for @evilrobotgames.bsky.social is our Hidden/Hollow World setting, “Askalon.” I’m shooting for about 96 pages. This is going to be the next of our Condensed Campaign books for PF2E. All the info to start and run a game… (1/)

Well… it’s a hellscape but Mixam pricing algo has started pushing lower and lower orders as better. They deny this, but it’s often cheaper to print 299 per unit and then 300 jumps up a couple hundred. Try two orders of 225

Flash Gordon and the Rocketeer had flashy ways to get to the next scene. I think thats why new BSG stole so many plots from SAAB. Towering Inferno is a great lift when your audience knows the material. Apollo in High Noon or Shane isn't dogfighting.
