Only one chapter in, but this was very much worth the wait.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe – Vrach Frankenshteyn is an improvement on the original cut. Not a BIG improvement, mind, but it's better balanced. They've cut the George Bush jump scare, though. And this post credit scene remains absolutely baffling.

Excited about this month's SFX which includes my feature on Jane Schoenbrun's glorious Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, for which I interview Jane, Hannah Einbinder and actual icon Gillian Anderson.

In possibly my most on brand personal irritation yet... Coach Beard got married at Stone Henge at the end of season 3 of Ted Lasso. This is visibly Avebury WTF.

Fascinated by this t-shirt found in a charity shop today. Is it promoting a band or more the concept of guns? Did they shoot that plane out of the sky?

Having a titanically awful year, honestly. Considering saying fuckit and taking that long-planned Twin Peaks pilgrimage to North Bend and Snoqualmie. Anyway, there's a hotel in Bend where you can stay in a room that's designed like a Star Trek set.

Nine years since the greatest TV episode of all time.

Excited for this today! I have injured a tendon, so wasn't sure I'd make it, but I'm on the train now and looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

Bought this fairly rare Kool Keith LP as a present for a friend, but he'd already found a copy himself. So now I own a fairly spenny record with one of the worst covers of all time.

Rest in peace John Blanche. His work defined everything good about Warhammer: it's weirdness and singularity, it's satirical edge (something the game has been noticeably heading back towards of late), and it's mad gothic atmosphere. An incredible, unique talent.

Saw Rose of Nevada again. Decided to join the dots with everything else that I like. FOTY so far, honestly.

Not my pic, found on Reddit. Looks like this is the next step of the BoC rollout, in Soho.

Hello to my most recent and definitely real new follower.

Still thinking about last night's Armand Hammer show. One of the most exciting gigs I've been to in literal years, plus I got to meet Woods again and get some records signed. He doesn't like appearing in photos, so appropriate that this is the only one I got.

Armand Hammer on stage suffused in red light.

A signed copy of Mercy by Armand Hammer.

Woke from a very stupid dream where it turned out that Pablo Honey-era Radiohead had a flat share sitcom in the style of the Young Ones.

Josie and the Pussycats still extremely good

I also ended up with the omnibus edition, in the same style.

At some I ended up picking up the slightly whiffy prequel novel in exactly the same cover art I remember from school. So I started collecting that set too. Got the last one today.

I love John Christopher's Tripods novels, so a while back sought out the trilogy with these funky early 70s covers.

Tried not to binge all of Small Prophets in one go, so have only just finished it and, god, it's perfect. Gently funny, quietly mystical, devastatingly melancholy. The creature effects exactly the right blend of nostalgic and eerie. Just pure magic all the way through.

I watched Aguirre, The Wrath of God and found the perfect representation of the worst gig I ever went to (naming no names).

So proud to still be a part of SFX as it reaches issue 400. As I note each time we hit one of the big numbers, I've read it since #1. It's an extra special issue for me, as I have a David Lynch feature, with input from Sabrina S. Sutherland, Michael Horse, Chrystabell and more. On sale now!

The day after Lynch passed I had a dream where he said goodbye, which - even though just my imagination - felt deeply meaningful and personal. In the night I had the follow up...

Thought Game was terrific. Slow burn car crash thriller with a menacing turn from Jason out of Sleaford Mods and a rave nostalgia soundtrack contrasting/complementing the feral nature doc vibes. Looks amazing, too. Some letterboxd thoughts below (I am evilrobotbill on there too.)

Watching The Brain of Morbius for Doctor Who day with pals. This story implies one of two things: either Time Lord brains glow and flash when they talk, or Solon put a fun lightbulb in Morbius's for a laugh.

Will Salmon @evilrobotbill.bsky.social · 20/11/2025

This is fun and I'm not sure how widely it's been picked up yet. The opening to the trailer for the new Hunger Games seems like a pretty direct nod to David Bowie's performance on SNL.
