She became invested in studying marine biology and aquatic conservation. She also became the extrovert of the group. While she can navigate on land in her wheelchair, she much prefers swimming, and is very good at it.

The group needed to cross the pirate infested waters to reach the land on the other side and find a wizard named Hocus Pocus who would help lead them to victory. Ari decided to join the group. They would eventually go on to win. Over the next few months, Ari began feeling better about herself.

However, her father reassured her that she had made the right decsion as she was a mermaid first and a human second. A few months go by, and they are greeted by some superpowered humans named Elaine, Rhys, Nate and Tyler, who were fighting against a manipulative cult.

Unable to return to the ocean, Ari developed severe depression and remained a recluse in her father's home, afraid the pirates would come after her. Since she no longer had legs, she used a wheelchair to get around. She felt guilty about getting the surgery in the first place.

She lived there for several years, until one day when the ocean was attacked by pirates looking to steal the valuable scales on mermaids' tails. They poisoned the water, killing all of the mermaids, but Ari was able to escape to the surface since she could breathe air, and was rescued by her father.

She moved into the ocean full time and was accepted by the other mermaids, who knew of her human biology. She had also come out as transgender, adopting the name Ari, after Ariel in The Little Mermaid. She would often times pop up to the surface to see her father, but remained underwater mostly.

When she was 18, her parents finally let her achieve her dream, as her unique biology would allow her to physically live underwater full time. She had surgery, completely removing her legs and genitals, and replacing it with an artificial mermaid tail, which she eventually gained full control over.

Her father was a lighthouse keeper, and lived near a beach, so Ari grew up on the beach, and would oftentimes go into the water to play with her mermaid friends. They found her unique biology cool. Overtime, Ari wanted more and more to be like the other mermaids and wanted a mermaid tail.

Ari is an intersex human/mermaid hybrid. Her mother was a mermaid and her father was a human. She is the only such case. She was born with human anatomy, including legs and lungs, however, she also possesses gills, allowing her to breathe both air and water, a trait unique to only her.

I love Animal Crossing, but I wish I had the energy to commit to it. I'll start a town, play for a few days, then abandon it, then start all over again a few years later. 🙃
