Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Once this is done, I think I share it so y'all could try it out Meanwhile, a sneak peak on another iOS 6 styled thing I work on 030
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 05/10/2026In case you wonder about the progress on the app and why I don't release it, I faced a few issues: 1. Localization issues, some places' names aren't translating in different languages 2. Microfreezes during switching between screens and pages 3. AI in the code, I don't want to have it there 120

Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 28/09/2026And most importantly: for now, just the clock itself. I’m not planning to add features like a world clock menu, alarms, timers, or stopwatch yet ^^; 010
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 28/09/2026In addition to the changes you can see in the screenshots, I’ve made some optimization work to both graphics and code (for example, converting all PNGs to WebP) I still have a few functionality issues to work out, but overall the app is *almost* ready, as the version number shows :) 120
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Yes, that very clock for which Apple was sued by Swiss Railways lol 020
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Still *lots* of polishing needed, both UI and backend wise, but I am satisfied with how it turns out 040

Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Okay, just for the sake of the context I try myself in developing apps for Android, in Kotlin Basically, playing with Android Studio so far And the named playground is nothing more than- this ^^; 021

Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Well, as long as the purpose of the study doesn't have anything negative in it, I'm fine with it The only thing I'm interested in is what stupy is 230
Reposted by EvEv @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Alright, before I start talking about a new experience there WARNING: This is a long-read thread #Kustom #Android #mockup #UI First and foremost, I'd like to note a change I made “under the hood.” By default, Kustom has two weather providers: OpenWeatherMap and Yr.no. Both are fairly accurate, > 151
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I think I like sketches better Yes, they are not perfect, but they are "alive" Lining can correct the sketch's flaws, but it can't achieve "liveliness" Rendering can be a fun activity too, especially when you try something new there 230

Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026But for now, you can download them for free. To use them, install Kustom Widget on your device, place the widget on your home screen, and upload the file using the “Import” option. The rest is up to you. :) Also, there's an updated version of the very first widget. mega.nz/folder/FyZjR...mega.nz47.82 MB folder on MEGA4 files 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I could have added more features, but I don't yet have the skills to work with Kustom to its full potential. For example, I'd love to eventually add a flipping animation for the clock in the last widget - just like in the original one. Who knows, maybe I'll learn how to do it someday. > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026since I’m a huge fan of the Sense UI from the HTC One era. But I decided to make things a little more challenging and tied the widget’s colors not only to the time of day but also to the system colors (yes, I’m talking about Material You). And overall, I added a few small details here and there. > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026HTC Sense 6 style With this one, things turned out to be even simpler - so much so that there’s not much to explain. All I had to do was embed the right font and icon sets. Unlike the previous one, I designed this widget specifically for myself, > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026And I had to rename the fonts via their metadata to avoid conflicts with the system (yes, I used the old Roboto for better aesthetics). The result: a fully functional widget with built-in graphics. No upscaling was used here. > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Galaxy S3 style This widget was easier to work with because the processes were already well-established. The widget itself, however, isn’t as simple in design as it might seem. For example, the clock digits are PNG images, and I had to implement them using a separate Komponent. > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026The result: a working widget that switches icon sets depending on the time of day and displays the current phase of the moon. > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I had to run them all through a special Python script (feel free to look up what CgBI is and how to fix it when you have a moment). And on top of all that- please don’t throw tomatoes at me for this, I had to upscale the graphics (no online services used). > 100
Ev @evgnm.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Classic iOS style One of the most challenging projects by far. Not only did it serve as a testing ground for implementing Open-Meteo, but the graphics also caused quite a bit of trouble. I managed to get my hands on the original Weather app from iOS6, but to get the graphics to work properly, > 110
