Eleven years ago today, a student with an assault weapon shot into a classroom at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. Nine people were shot and killed, and nine more were wounded. It is the deadliest mass shooting in Oregon’s modern history.

On this day in 2017, a gunman armed with more than 20 AR-style rifles — many equipped with bump stocks and high capacity magazines — opened fire on a crowd during the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sixty people were fatally shot and over 400 others were wounded.

A man opened fire at his workplace in Virginia, killing two co-workers and wounding another. After a pursuit by police, the man shot and killed himself. People in this country should be able to go to work, school, a concert, places of worship — anywhere — without the threat of being gunned down.

VICTORY IN CALIFORNIA! @governor.ca.gov signed The Firearm Printing Prevention Act into law, making California the second state in the nation to require 3D printers sold in California to incorporate technology that identifies and blocks attempts to print guns and illegal gun parts.

HEARTBREAKING: Four-year-old Caleb Flax was sleeping in his Charlotte, North Carolina home when someone from outside fired into the home, killing Caleb. A woman in the home was wounded. A child’s bed should be where they sleep peacefully without the threat of gun violence. Caleb deserved better.
