Palm Springs and the surrounding desert

Aunt just told me will be driving with my cousin 4 hours round trip to Palm Springs to drop off a couple of cats. Hyped. Catch up with my cousin. See the desert for the first time since I believe the 2000s. And if nightfall probably see the Milky Way dust lanes if visible.

Better than getting nuked while on this visit I guess. The heat wave wasn't too bad either. But then I again I am used to chilly Octobers.

Going to make another video promo for a friend's guitar shop tomorrow. If there's time, will go to another open mic. Even if just listening. Camera's battery may not be full. And may be too late to sign up. But there's also next week and the week after next.

Whether it is autism spectrum or anxiety/OCD combo, I think some of it at least is PTSD. You dealt whether in the community or school (and some people, family/friends) with abusive and neglecting people. So if someone is nice and good, you thank them or apologize a lot. Simpler

'You know you are going to that dance with that boy'.

Eccentric and awkward + Cool and nice = Extremely average.

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Wait till people see me on a less sedating medication again. Difference between day and night. Like a totally different person.

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Hyped. Should have more civic duty videos to voluntarily edit. A volunteer videography and edit for a friend's business. And if my camera's battery is full, another full open mic. The artists were really appreciative last week. Also in Ohio, too. Just more people out here.

So glad I brought my chest and neck fans on this California trip. It's between 30-70 degrees F in Ohio right now. It may get up to 105 degrees in SoCal. And because of El Niño, it's humid instead of a dry heat.

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

When you awkward but people are still okay with you around. No one is perfect. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Stupid. Crazy. Weird. Creepy. Nice. Charming. Cool. Talented.

Just practiced some rarely or never performed live songs. Hoping to play them at an open mic tomorrow.

A Long Beach crosswalk i talk to every morning when I am here during the school week. Bought me a souvenir from a Cancun, Mexico trip. Alsp, a retired judge back in Ohio also told me he bought me a telescope. And asked me to show him the Andromeda galaxy. But when less sedade?

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

So medicated probably shouldn't even be out in public (or even online).

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

In between volunteer video edits and helping out family and friends in Long Beach. Doing the community roller rink night. First time at a roller rink that I remember since the 1990s. Brought roller blades all the way from Ohio as well.

011

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

There's a free and daily morning yoga class i can walk to in Long Beach. Thing is, until today I almost forgot about it haha. But only been here a couple days so far. Also hyped about roller blading at a roller rink. Free comedy night at Que Sera. And open mic at Jug Band Coffee.

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Excited. Brought roller blades all the way from Ohio to California. To roller blade at a roller rink at a beach in Long Beach! A dj will be doing an event tomorrow evening!

I remember former congressman and 2020 POTUS primary candidate Tim Ryan declining progressive support when he ran for a US Ohio senate seat in 2022. He basically ran as a Trump Democrat (like Sherrod Brown did in 2024). He lost to JD Vance. Sherrod Brown also lost in 2024.

Doing volunteer video edits for Drunk Uncle for Congress 2,000 miles away in Long Beach, California!

Hyped. Listening to an entire college football game during a 4 hour flight is: 1) free on a radio app (don't have to get a streaming subscription) 2) making the flight go by faster.

000

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Not me being too into the radio broadcast of the Michigan-Iowa game on a flight from Cleveland to Vegas (then Vegas to Long Beach). And almost not hearing flight attendants ask me what drinks/snacks I want haha. This 4 hour flight is about how long the broadcast is!

What if Northwestern wins tonight? I mean could have just Jinx'd it. And the outcome of sports games has no material effect on my life. But what if Northwestern as the scrappy underdogs defeat the reigning, undefeated national champions?

000

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Imagine you get a scholarship to play sports like American Football at an Ivy League. If my collegiate history is correct, the Ivy League schools and military academies used to win Heismens and national titles until after World War 2. But with the NIL and transfer portal?

No need to be a hero for a villain.

000

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Just thinking of a lot of now obvious, pull yourself up by your boot straps propaganda I used to believe in. By all means do your best and don't give up. Just don't hurt or kill yourself at the same time. No need to be a hero for a villain.

000

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Hyped. Instead of paying for a streaming TV app. That may lag because of possible not so good airplane wifi. Downloaded a free sports radio app. To listen to the Michigan-Iowa college football game. During a 4 hour and 25 minute flight from Cleveland to Las Vegas (then to LBC).

Dang. Had a work accident that hurt my back in 2018. Was in pain for a few years afterwards. Then wasn't. But after some years, back in pain again haha. I wonder why it went away for years.

000

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

It's going to be a trade off. Yes it will be even more expensive. And bad. But incrementalism wasn't going to make things better. I mean if people can't even afford to get to work because of gas prices. By default will cause a general strike. Now is the time for mutual aid.

Even if hobby. So glad I spent more time doing music, writing and other creative things. I'm 36. If I would have spent more time doing athletics/sports (tho I still work out), I would probably be out of the game by now. I can still write a new song (without Ai). Even in old age.

Matt Ingles @everythirdthought.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Doc told me would get me a 90 day wellbutrin pill bottle. Cuz will be out of the state for a month a week from Saturday. But must of forgot cuz got a 30 day one. When called and left a voicemail they didn't call back last week. Gotta stretch 5 pills for 8 days now. Wtf?

A 2021 video I got of Saturn through old gear. At the time I didn't know how to align telescopes. But excited I can now.
