welcome to current year, where people are legitimately arguing against the use of pedestrian beg buttons for crossing stroads.

what do you do when you wake up at 3 am and can’t go back to sleep? drive 40 miles to a random park and ride along I-5 and catch a bus intended for Boeing commuters, of course!

decided to day trip to Vancouver on a whim. now I remember why I incessantly complain about TransLink not running to the border.

Just outside the Canadian side of the crossing. Yes, that is a divided highway. Yes, I had to walk down that.

First big road sign in Canada. You can either walk along an old derelict road or on the hard shoulder.

The bus stop is on the direct opposite side of the interchange, meaning I needed to walk along the onramp, along a narrow sidewalk at the top of the bridge, and then finally make it to the stop.

I didn't know it was possible for an agency to shoot itself in the foot like this, but it happened. My local agency, The WTA, has told the local universities, which make up half of its ridership, that it does not intend to continue giving free rides to their students, faculty, and staff. (1/3)
