The world is harsh. It often demands more than you can give. The Trial rules are simple, but they elevate tense situations into complex scenes. Players take turns sharing the spotlight as they collectively try to overcome the world. Illustration for our #ttrpg by Fof (ig:@thepengarts_) 🌲

Much of Evergreen is spent on the road. Using the Journey rules, players have a clear indication of how far their destination is. They can choose how they approach the road and maybe even employ magic to help them along. Illustration for our #ttrpg by @gawki.bsky.social 🌲

In Evergreen there is only one kind of roll. Whenever the outcome of your actions is uncertain, you will always roll 2d12, plus one more for each rank you have in the relevant skill, and add the two highest numbers. No other numbers or algebra beyond adding these two dice results! #ttrpg

Art directors are invaluable to any visual media, including #ttrpgs. Let's kick the year off by comparing some snippets of Evergreen before and after Niki (ig: n_iki_lmpd), our art director, weighed in on them. Without her this project wouldn't look half as good as it does!

The Misdreamer statblock before Niki's input: it is gray and angular. Its borders make it look unnecessarily busy.

The Misdreamer statblock after Niki's input: its cream color is complimented by subtly green borders. The spacing is better all around, and its edges are rugged and chalky instead of clearly defined.
