LATEST: Polish ski daredevil Andrzej Bargiel has announced plans to attempt a ski descent of Dhaulagiri I (8,167 m), the world’s seventh-highest mountain, this autumn. Bargiel has previously skied eight eight-thousanders, incl. Everest and K2. All w/o bottled oxygen. Photo ©: Bartek Pawlikowski.

BREAKING: Indian-German climber Dhruba Jyoti Guha and Nepali climber Fursemba Sherpa have been killed in an avalanche at Camp III on Mt Manaslu. Officials say the pair had moved higher from Camp II last evening for an early summit attempt before tragedy struck. More details to follow.
