I have been thinking today about things I have not seen on my property this year. Living things which were very common to see for most of my lifetime. Honey bees, Mayflies, June bugs, Japanese beetles, writing spiders, any butterflies, songbirds, or hawks, grass snakes, lizards,... so many gone.

Cloudland Canyon hike today. I missed the morning fog by about 30 minutes. I was almost assassinated by a 4 foot king snake that stared at me calmly from 2 feet away, then opted to mosey on.

For #WaterfallWednesday here is one of my shots of Burgess Falls in Tennessee last Spring.

A raging waterfall that is unusual, in that it protrudes outward from the cliff, rather than flow down the back of a bowl shaped erosion. Surrounded by large boulders and greenery. Burgess is many stories high.
