Goodnight, sweet prince 🫡

Just shipped the new InferaDB website — really proud of how the developer docs, blog (Dispatch), and changelog turned out. inferadb.com First time working with animating SVG. Love the subtle effect it gives Dispatch posts when they load in and on hover.

I'm building a little game engine in Metal/Vulkan from scratch with Claude Code (just for fun) and I decided I wanted to integrate a big throw back to my early gamer days — Starsiege Tribes skiing. I can't tell you how overjoyed I was that Claude understood this concept thoroughly.

Love building terminal UIs — it scratches an itch that's hard to define. Coming of age in the 90s hacking scene left an impression on me, I think. This is from @InferaDB CLI's `dev status --interactive` command. It's built using our Rust-native TUI framework inspired by Bubble Tea, called Ferment.

In Chicago this week visiting with our dear friends 😊

Two men in winter hats and glasses smiling in front of Chicago's reflective Cloud Gate sculpture ("The Bean") with city skyscrapers behind.

Five friends bundled in jackets pose smiling in front of Chicago's reflective Cloud Gate sculpture ("The Bean") on an overcast autumn day

Group of six friends seated around a round restaurant table, chatting and using phones, wine glass and place settings visible in a cozy, art-filled dining room.

If you love Claude Code but want a little more of an integrated experience, Cline supports using Claude Code as it's API provider. Works great and can take advantage of your Claude Max subscription.

Been trying out Oura’s new glucose monitoring integration this week. Flawless execution. Been so insightful being able to track it alongside my other Oura data — like seeing how activity, stress, and meals affect it.

Been setting up presence tracking throughout the house for home automation stuff. Using Bluetooth triangulation since I have a few devices always on me, like my Oura ring and Whoop band. It’s insane how accurate you can get it with just a few sensors around.

Still in my first week with it, but I’m thoroughly impressed with Whoop MG so far.

Peek at my personal site rebuild. I've implemented audio narration using @elevenlabs.io. It's dynamically generated from my Markdown content, and chunked into sections for easy skimming. Lots of neat details I've baked in, like fading written content in/out as the audio playback progresses.

My Dock changed a lot week. @notion.com Mail has been phenomenal, and has already won me over as the best email client I've ever used.

Evan Sims @evansims.com · 28/02/2025

I've built an integration that can auto-import all my Oura ring health data into @notion.com each day, so I can aggregate and visualize my data there. I also used OpenAI deep research to build a nutrition matrix with my supplement data, so I can now validate against RDA and UL.

Evan Sims @evansims.com · 28/02/2025

I’ve been refining my daily routine system in Notion lately. It’s really helped me stay more consistent, and along the way, I’ve learned a lot about Notion and how it's automations work. I think it’s nearly perfect for my needs now.

I know El*n M*sk took issue with this game including pronouns (God forbid!) but the gameplay frankly seems like it's right up his ally.

This coworking space is admittedly a little cramped

A calico cat named Ellie rests her head and front paw on someone’s arm as they use a computer mouse at a desk. A white mechanical keyboard with peach-colored keys is visible nearby, and a monitor in the background displays an image of green foliage. The scene captures Ellie calmly asserting her presence in a workspace.

Billies been extra cuddly too, since @joecioffi.dev has been away visiting family the past few days. She’ll be happy to have him coming home tomorrow 🥰

A close-up of a tabby cat named Billie sitting on a hardwood floor, gazing up directly at the camera with wide, curious eyes. Billie’s fur features brown and black stripes, and her ears are perked up, giving her an alert and attentive look. Her whiskers stand out softly against her face, and her slightly tilted head adds a touch of personality. The warm lighting highlights the natural tones of her fur and the wooden floor, creating a cozy, homey feel. Billie’s expressive eyes and calm posture make the moment feel personal and endearing.

Ellie loves her sofa cuddles. 😌

A cozy scene of a calico cat named Ellie lounging between her owner’s outstretched legs on a couch. Ellie is curled up on a soft, fuzzy blanket, appearing relaxed and content. Her owner, wearing olive green pants and black socks, is reclined, creating a calm moment. In the background, a cat tree and natural light from a nearby window hint at a warm, inviting home environment.

Neat little LG French Door fridge feature we just discovered by accident. Who knew? (I probably would have, if I’d ever bothered to read the booklet that came with it!) Sorry for the sniffles, I have a cold 🤧

Can’t get the new unit installed till next Wednesday, so… yeah. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Last two portable AC units I could around here, without driving 50 miles. Tis the season, I guess. 😅
