This devilish, cruel winter got me thrilled to see 60 degrees today. We survived heavy snow and bitter cold for this goodness. Soon, this will feel normal and welcoming.

If John Harbaugh delivers for the Giants like Hamilton, Elia Mediterranean Restaurant will be known as “the room where it happened”. The dinner that helped seal the deal. Maybe it gets remembered like the famous 1989 lunch b/w Jerry Jones & Jimmy Johnson before Jerry hired Jimmy

Just a guy about to see his sister married. November’s ceremony was wonderful. Today will be too. Especially in our fatherland. Like Sinatra sang (and Bowie paraphrased), get me to the church on time. My sister is the prettiest woman in New Orleans today.

Appropriate music for today’s assignment. 2 more home games for the Giants. Vikings today. When in doubt? Always play the extended version of Prince songs and appreciate the breadth of this man’s genius/funk.

A second plane banner has flown over MetLife Stadium. The first wished Giants president/CEO John Mara well as he’s battling cancer. The second? “Mr Mara Enough is Enough - Clean House”

Lot of Kansas City fans in the building tonight. Between the Giants and KC, somebody will be Moses parting the Red Sea. Or somebody at 0-3 will drown in it like Pharaoh. Enjoy Sunday Night football

Apparently Bluesky isn’t letting me upload videos. So no clips of the Giants’ fits for Week 1. Russell Wilson came through with a blue suit ahead of his Giants debut.

Last night of Giants preseason football. Starters will likely sit so enjoy the view. Could be the last time fans see a long look at Jaxson Dart for a while.

One of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard. A masterpiece among several on this game changing album. Brian Wilson was part of my musical life since 5th grade. An architect of my city’s sound and identity. God bless his memory. Another genius that changed music

Heard the best rapper alive was in the area. And he got a friend from Jersey who’s back home. First time at a stadium concert since U2 in 2017. And it’s even better it’s for Kendrick Lamar and SZA

Got to relive HS and college last night seeing Missy Elliott. I’m thankful she’s able to tour and even better she’s still fun, unique and in good spirits. Worth coming back to Memphis for “Me and Timbaland been hot since 20 years ago” rings out even more now than it did in 2001

Almost brought a tear to my eyes. This winter was rougher on me than last year in NY. But seeing these temps made me joyful. The Lawd is good, I say. Goooodt! I’ll even take some rain instead of the cold. Spring 😊😊

Happy 10th to this masterpiece. I still prefer GKMC as my fave Kendrick but I love this record being a jazzy risk. It’s a heavy listen but the musicianship/rhymes are is great. King Kunta & this song gave me great joy (despite the flawed last line). To Pimp a Butterfly. 10 Yrs

Figured I’d share how the jambalaya looked. Bought a new pot yesterday and it worked perfectly. Shrimp, sausage and chicken. Peppers, onions and spices for days.

Day 28: Gave in out of curiosity. Came away almost feeling the same. Cardi B has a strong voice & some of the beats hit. But the album got repetitive lyrically. Cardi's an okay rapper and her personality sells her songs. After a while, it's a bit much and felt derivative of Lil Kim/Foxy Brown #MWE

Day 27: My Mom loves this record. Hearing Carole King sing her songs made famous by others felt poignant. Not taking them back but finding another layer of depth. That's a gift. I feel the Earth Move/It's Too Late were brilliant, assertive songs. Easy to hear why Tapestry is so acclaimed #MWE

Day 26: Known the title track for years but Wish You Were Here felt more theatrical than I thought. Bigger sound from Pink Floyd. Heard more synth lines than Dark Side of the Moon but also similar sadness. The pain for Syd Barrett. The frustrations in "Welcome to the Machine". Loved it a lot #MWE

Day 25: Good, soulful folk record. Knew very little about Joan Armatrading but I love her voice - like a sultrier, stronger Joni Mitchell. "Love and Affection" was a beautiful, straight-forward ballad. "Tall in the Saddle" - a nice kiss-off to a cheating lover. I'd like to hear more from her #MWE

Couple key notes from the NFLPA’s annual report card. The Giants fell from 8th to 20th. Low marks for locker rooms and treatment of families. Best marks for Brian Daboll and strength coaches. Ownership fell a full grade point from last year to C+

Day 24: For Roberta Flack. Beautiful harmonies, chemistry & piano playing. Soul, gospel and Black pride ("Be Real Black"). Tasteful, lovely interpretations of You've Got a Friend and I Who Have Nothing. Roberta & Donny Hathaway were always a perfect duet pair for me. This album reminds why #MWE

Day 23: Tom Petty songs always feel relatable to me so no surprise I loved Wildflowers. Sounds like something you can play on a warm day with a cool drink or just sitting around or a long drive. "You Wreck Me" was a nice rocker to add to my fave Petty songs. Great album like Full Moon Fever #MWE

Day 22: UGK's 2nd album was thick w/ the Southern soul funk/live instruments. Loved the organ. Love how UGK balanced street life (Pocket Full o Stones 2, Supposed to Bubble) w/real talk (Stoned Junkee). Feels like a G-Funk influenced record before Pimp C & Bun B took it further on Ridin Dirty. #MWE

Day 21: I know Coltrane's Love Supreme well. Giant Steps is more in-your-face, aggressive. I loved "Naima" before but it stood out on this album w/more uptempo songs. It's not a mellow jazz record like Kind of Blue but it feels like a morning, get going record. Def. want to hear it again. #MWE

Day 20: Solange always felt like the freer Knowles sister til recently. This album from 2008 reminds me a little of Santigold's debut. Alternative, fun, bouncy, left-of-center, modern retro like a more upbeat Sharon Jones + Dap Kings vibe. Well sung + colorful flair/horns make it cool. #MWE

Day 19: Love the 1st Stone Roses record. 2nd's a mixed bag. Great, bluesy guitar feel & spiritual allusions (a retelling of Christ's return? "Love Spreads" fits) But something's missing. Some songs meandered. Not a lotta groove like "Fools Gold". Fine record but not the excitement of the 1st #MWE

Day 18: Been waiting for this one. Masterful, vulnerable storytelling. "Cover Me Up" is a devastatingly, honest love song. On this album, there's empathy for his characters, great details + turns of phrase wrestling w/ past lives to accept his present. The Jason Isbell I love started here. #MWE

Day 17: Capone-N-Noreaga's debut was grimy but a bit shiny. Reminded me of Uptown Saturday Night how a 97 rap record balances both w/o losing that grit. Easy to see why Noreaga shined so well as a solo artist hearing him here. Loved "TONY" and "Bloody Money" and it's def a Queens vibe record. #MWE

Day 16: Tricky's debut. Loved "Black Steel" for years as a great Public Enemy cover but didn't expect a dark, stream-of-conscious record. Martina Topley-Bird's lovely voice is the glue holding this together. An album that copes with so much pain yet the sound draws you in vs pushes away. #MWE

Day 15: Skynyrd's debut. Loved the songwriting. "Simple Man" was great. "Gimme Three Steps" is great storytelling. Poison Whiskey reminds some Skynyrd songs that disdain wild living. I avoided Free Bird for years but that outro guitar solo is BOSS. Reminds me again don't judge a band by fans. #MWE

Day 14: A chill record by an amazing group. Laid back but rough. Loved hearing samples that I've come to love on later songs. Pete Rock's ear + sound are so good.. "Take You There" was smooth. Pete Rock + CL Smooth have amazing chemistry and I loved it the same way I love the first record.. #MWE

Day 13 (catching up): Heart's debut was a bit softer than I expected - reminded me of softer Zeppelin songs. I knew Crazy on You + Magic Man but those folksy moments balanced to the harder songs on here. Definitely loved Ann Wilson's range as a versatile singer with power & softness. #MWE

Day 12: Surprised it took me this long to hear Method Man's debut. No surprise I loved the dusty, dark production from RZA. Wild hearing the original "All I Need" before Mary J jumped on it. Meth always hits for me as a rapper but while Tical is great, I still like Wu's 95 records better. #MWE

Day 11: Been listening to more post-disco so Madonna's debut was curious to hear. I love it. Poppy with post-disco energy. What I imagine 80s NYC clubs were like. Reggie Lucas' production is funky. Madonna's voice keeps it fun. "Everybody" + "Physical Attraction" were great besides the hits #MWE

Day 10: Maybe the most disappointing U2 record I've heard. Low energy. Muted production. No payoff for the songs that try to build. I loved "Stay" during those dark 2020 days but the rest of the album had little life/lift to it. Says a lot Johnny Cash on the outro had more energy than Bono. #MWE

Day 9 yesterday: Knew the Depeche Mode hits from Violator but I love the spaced out synths of the songs I didn't know. "Waiting for the Night" feels spooky and ominous for a movie or something. "World in My Eyes" is a killer, punchy intro that feels like updated Kraftwerk. Great album #MWE

Day 8: A reminder of my HS days when Goo Goo Dolls were everywhere. They definitely picked the right singles vs the other songs but the strings jumped out in my headphones. They gave the songs - even the punkier ones - a bit more polish/shine. Overall, a good 90s alternative record. #MWE

Day 7 (catchup): A fun, quirky yet catchy early 80s pop record. I love how Sparks have songs about silly, mundane things but sing them with all the gusto/sincerity. I loved "I Predict" for a couple years so it's cool hearing more songs like that ("Mickey Mouse" was hilarious). #MWE

Day 6: I knew 3 songs so I focused on Black Sabbath's lyrics. Dark but observant of real issues (war, mental health, apocalypse, addiction). Great singing, big riffs! Loved the bass having more groove than I expected. Very surprised how accessible it is like Zeppelin 1/2. Monster record. #MWE
