From the logs it does look like the deletes worked, but just probably sent a timeout message to the UI? if you actually try and run the deletes from seamark.dev That has the latest codebase and shouldn't run into the error.

Theoretically atproto oauth can be refreshed indefinitely when using confidential clients, realistically it doesn’t seem to work that way. Too many factors. PDS, browser, appview. Seems like things don’t hold a session properly.

I think the analogy goes deeper when you consider a lot of phone manufacturers put their own digital enhancement on top of the photos you took. The Samsung vs Google vs Apple “look” when taking the same picture. People generally have already accepted that from their photos.

Yeah I was considering spinning up an alpha release server. It would be separate from where I store the current images now. And I wouldn’t expect things to survive during alpha. There’s currently a bug in the alpha pds where private blobs are not fully private. So might wait for that to get fixed.

I have shamelessly given claude access to a test account on my pds and told it to figure out all my testing. I got tired of “try pushing/pulling containers with every docker/posman/skopeo/crane… client”. So much so that I got the first @pds.rip account banned 😬

Hey @dholms.at On the spaces alpha PDS, it seems like the com.atproto.sync.getBlob endpoint will still return blobs that are only referenced by a space record? sync.listBlobs doesn't show it, but if you know the CID you can still fetch it publicly on getBlob. Is this expected?

I pushed what i think is a fix for this that should reduce timeouts. The server is a bit resource constrained, so other user actions can cause timeouts, but after your next push/pull it should hopefully time out less often.

I hear about time out issues more frequently but I can’t pin to a single source. I think the amount of people using it these days overloads the server. I haven’t had a lot of time to give to the project lately. I have big things planned if I can get time to work on it.

Seamark.dev is going to be my free/paid hosted solution. But atcr.io is still the lexicons and the tangled repo. So open source vs product Ive been not so secretly changing branding etc and haven’t really explained this publicly. Getting things set up for billing isnt very fun. And life’s been busy

Proton was too slow for the way I archive all email instead of deleting. Search basically didn’t work and the encryption overhead was miserable. Fastmail maybe not as secure but just works with everything. Third option: kagimail.com

Yeah I'm using a vendored copy of github.com/bluesky-soci... (which I know streamplace is as well) And it doesn't support sync1.1, but i've hacked in some sync 1.1 changes, and will add more to try and fix this. I'm mostly waiting on this to be implemented for PDS: github.com/bluesky-soci...

It’s not a new unique hash it’s deterministic based on the secret and the counter. You should be able to take that function out, set counter and secret to something you know, and the return string is the same each time.

In cocoon: maybeSecret, err := os.ReadFile("nonce.secret") You can edit that file with a shared secret. It only randomly generates if that file doesn’t already exist. Not sure this is still enough, but in theory it’s stateless as long as the clocks at in sync

With indigo i just vendored sqlite_store and replaced the import with libsql and it works. Just a note because I’ve been running libsql with the embedded replica for my appview and running into weird sync issues. Similar to: github.com/tursodatabas... means you can’t really scale the read replicas

You had been over your quota for a bit, but I just recently fixed the quota checks. Yes, a webhook would be a good idea. Your images are massive btw. The latest are showing ~350mb for each architecture

I fixed it on the backend with a manual garbage collect. Some things get garbage collected much later, but manifest deletes from the UI are supposed to free up space immediately. Still trying to fine tune that.
