Got to explore inside some clouds on Friday. After flying in perfect VMC most of the way, we entered cloud 2/3 of the way home and didn't see anything more until on mid-final. ☁️🛩️☁️

Find another pic from the airshow. We walked down to the end of the runway, where it was quieter (people-wise, the planes were still plenty loud). Ex-RAAF P-3 Orion and Neptune were parked in front of us. It was so chilled that I enjoyed the show and forgot to take many pics!

For the Artemis II launch, Erik Kuna used "pad remotes," placing sound-triggered cameras just 1,000ft away days in advance of the launch. It was a high-stakes gamble against rain, heat, and animals, risking gear destruction for a single, unrepeatable shot of the rocket’s ignition.

Finally got a chance to take my Dad for a fly again! (It's been a couple of years😰) He's largely the reason I'm also a pilot now - hearing his stories about flying around Australia during the 60s and 70s. 🛩️

Big unexpected day of flying... Dropped off a plane back to its owner after its annual, then headed on to rescue a plane with a flat tyre. ~5hrs airborne. 👍 Horrible headwind to get there, plus dust storms, incredible tailwind (and personal best GS for an SR20) on the homeward leg. 🤷‍♂️

A lil' timeline cleanser: had a great weekend flyaway adventure to a new-to-me airport - Mt Beauty (YMBT). Visited a friend's new holiday house and took in some of the local sights. Smoke from recent bushfires filled the Melbourne basin upon our return.
