No, actually the opposite…. The PM of Greenland Jens-Frederik Nielsen should “be ashamed,” says the U.S. special envoy (according to Danish TV2 news this morning)

Jens-Frederik Nielsen should “be ashamed,” says the U.S. special envoy

The United States’ special envoy to Greenland, Jeff Landry, is now directing sharp criticism at Greenland’s head of government, Jens-Frederik Nielsen.

In a post on the social media platform X, Landry writes directly that Jens-Frederik Nielsen “should be ashamed” after he yesterday rejected President Donald Trump’s proposal to send an American hospital ship to Greenland.

Landry writes that many Greenlandic towns lack basic healthcare services, and that, according to him, a healthy Greenland is crucial to U.S. national security.

The statement comes after Jens-Frederik Nielsen emphasized that Greenland has a public healthcare system, and that decisions about Greenland are made in Greenland.

Danish PM on Facebook this morning: “I am happy to live in a country where there is free and equal access to healthcare for everyone. Where insurance and wealth do not determine whether you receive proper treatment. The same approach exists in Greenland. Happy Sunday to you all”

Saw Katie Miller’s post showing Greenland under the American flag. If that’s what they’re aiming for, I hope the alternative scenario a friend of mine visualized becomes reality instead.

When Orbán celebrates Trump and Putin making the world “safer”, that’s my cue to panic😳😬🫣

News story from Danish TV2 saying:

“The world has become safer after summit between Trump and Putin, says Orbán

The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, stated Saturday morning that “the world is a safer place” after the meeting between Trump and Putin. This is reported by the news agency Reuters.
For years we have seen the two largest nuclear powers dismantle the framework for their cooperation and send messages to each other. Now that is over, says Orbán.”

Greetings from Europe, and a heartfelt Happy 4th of July to the American people 🇺🇸 A sign of support in these difficult times - when the promise of freedom feels fragile. May this day serve as a reminder of the values upon which democracy is built.

True leadership means standing up, even when you don’t have to. The Deputy Chair of Denmark’s Financial Services Union is setting the bar 🌈 #pride #leadership #freedom

Hungary stood up against dictatorship today! The Budapest Pride Parade saw record numbers - even though President Orbán had officially banned it. @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu expressed strong support and 70 members of the European Parliament joined the parade. I’m proud to be European! 🏳️‍🌈🇪🇺

PINK came into my feed this morning – and hit me right in the gut. My heart is with the American people in these horrible months. I see your fear. I see your frustration. I see your fight for democracy. Keep going. Keep standing tall. The whole world is watching – and rooting for you 🇺🇸🌍

Where the US has shown nothing but blatant disrespect toward both Greenland and Denmark, France stands out by demonstrating solidarity, respect, and unwavering support. In contrast to Trump - a dictator driven by imperial ambitions - President Macron embodies true and resolute leadership. 🇫🇷 🇬🇱 🇩🇰

Wow. Amnesty Denmark is campaigning with the question: “Is your freedom in safe hands?” No names needed. We all know why they’re asking - and we know why it matters. History is calling. Democracy doesn’t sustain itself. We all have a role to play.

This morning, I’ve seen a lot of videos from the massive No Kings demonstrations. But this one brought tears to my eyes. They’ve lived through wars and crises. They’ve seen it all - and they’re ready to fight. Justice and dignity don’t retire - and democracy belongs to the people, not to one man.
