After a successful and exciting week in Seoul at #GPA47, it is time to look ahead. Next year’s Global Privacy Assembly #GPA48 will take place in Dubai, from 7-11 December 2026. The year after, #GPA49 will take place in Kenya.

Today marks the end of WWII in Indonesia. During the memorial tonight, I will observe two minutes of silence for my ancestors, and for all those others who spent the war in Japanese internment camps.

The Museum of Art in The Hague has a beautiful exposition on New Paris. The changes in the city in the 1860s, led by Haussmann, but visualised by the impressionists and early photographers. Well worth a visit!

Minister Faber is niet van plan om de asielwetten aan te passen naar aanleiding van het advies van de Raad van State. "Misschien een punt en een komma, maar dat is het", zegt de minister van Asiel en Migratie.

Faber heeft de adviezen van het hoogste adviesorgaan naar eigen zeggen nog niet gelezen, maar doet dat dit weekend. De kans is volgens haar klein dat ze die opvolgt. "Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat mijn juristen een goed voorstel hebben neergelegd. Het advies is niet bindend, ik kan ermee doen wat ik wil."
