Noting that this one trooper did a brave and selfless act and that elicited praise for them all. But many of the policing force committing violence and murder, and many other abuses of power, does not elicit an indictment of them all.

Yeah it would definitely not be billed as creating a safe space, just creating *something. And allies would definitely be encouraged to participate and help get it to goal.

Reading this has me thinking about this idea I had recently about scheduling a monthly “Critical Mask” event over the colder months. Like a museum, and the goal is just to create a space where more people are masked than are not. I don’t think I have the juice to make it effective. But maybe. Tbd.

I did not, thank you! My dental team will put on the N95’s I bring them, but at that point it’s too late to do much good. But still, it’s something. I use a couple nasal sprays too.

I’m taking a nice bike ride after my dentist appointment this afternoon, in case I catch an illness there and am disabled again for a year or worse. I love this. Totally normal risk assessment decisions.

I actually don’t give a shit about parking for able-bodied people 🤣 And I lived in the Wedge for years and had to park up to 5 blocks away sometimes in the winter.

Regardless of law, I can be an example of a resident who doesn’t have a handicap spot and is asking nicely to not block the walk. One of my parents literally can’t get to my house safely without that access. And my house is one of the only outings he has now.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying but I think you’re saying that some people do this … like they’re the same people who think other people shouldn’t park on *their part of the street? If so, there are probably some of those for sure. But I think most are out of need.

I think a lot of people don’t realize you don’t just automatically disappear when you’re disabled. But, for an example related to this topic, some people who can barely walk can drive just fine. And they need to get from parked cars to houses.

I stop for pedestrians like I get time added onto my life for each one.

And to never, under any circumstances, come to a complete stop.

Sorry, against blocking the sidewalk access. I really logged certain laws for some reason and this was one. Another was not changing lanes within 200’ of an intersection. Maybe I’m making that up too.

I swear there was a law against this when I took driver’s Ed, many many years ago. Presumably state law? Is this one of them false memories?

This brought up some fun memories from high school. One time the corn was already down so we laid in manure until they gave up and left.

This and The Last Unicorn were on heavy rotation for us. I had completely forgotten about it.

Sitting in my car outside Obbs, waiting on people, getting mad about society, think of our hero Aileen Wuorno, when someone pops around the corner wearing only nipple covers and a skirt, followed by a person with a fiddle. Thank you, Saint Paul. Attitude corrected.
