Discussion tonight in the locker room at beer league hockey: "Who'd win in a fight - Nickelback or Mariah Carey?" Consensus was Nickelback, but don't underestimate Mariah - she could definitely throw hands.

Merging high art (comics) and low art (Shakespeare). The expressions/poses in each panel. The food's acting, stabbing itself in the head with a fork for its performance. The breaking up of the monologue. The punchline. Inspired me when I first saw it. I still like to look at it and be inspired.

Wasn't long ago that no one knew/cared what posters were on the wall by my desk. Now thanks to Zoom and Google Meets, everyone sees everything. This is what that others notice most on my wall: my favorite old Calvin & Hobbes Sunday strip.

FINAL UPDATE: Owners of the photo identified! They did not lose a home in the fires, but did evacuate. Possibly the photo was lost during that. The photo will be returned to a family member shortly. We are very happy to be able to see it back home. Many thanks to those who spread the word.

This photo was blown into our yard during the Eaton Canyon fire. Anyone from Pasadena/Altadena recognize these people?

The joke all year was “survive til ’25”. Well we did it - we survived. Now let’s get out there and make 2025 unforgettable.

My favorite text exchange of 2024 was with @kevinburke20.bsky.social : -“At this moment, I’m staring at Final Draft trying to figure out if <fictional monster name> is supposed to be capitalized or not.” -“We are grown men.” -“Our wives may argue differently.”

Welp, I'm here. Now I'll either post regularly (possibly) - or quietly lurk and read your posts (maybe) - or just post nonsensical ramblings that make you wonder what the hell is wrong with me (bingo!).
