Hello autumn
A view of Llandudno's North Shore prom. The tide is high and the sea is rough, spray from the waves is splashing up into the air. The sky has large fluffy clouds with some blue. The light is bright but strained.

I've been away for the weekend, playing board games with 12 friends in a remote hall. This is how the valley near it looked Saturday morning.
Edderton Hall, a large house, sits in the foreground. Behind it are fields, dotted with trees. Patches of mist cover the ground further back, the sun sits on the horizon, just rising. Fields with lines of trees, near the horizon the fields and trees are swathed in thick misty clouds.

Pratchett was ahead of the game once again.
“Bingeley-bingeley beep!” said a cheerful voice from his pocket.
“Damn!” said Vimes, but it was too late.
“It is,” said the voice, which had the squeaky friendly quality that begs to be strangled, “about... nineish.”
“Nineish?”
“Yep. Nineish. Precisely about nineish.”
Vimes rolled his eyes. “Precisely about nineish?” he said, pulling a small box out of his pocket and opening the lid. The demon inside gave him an angry look.
“Yesterday you said,” it said, “that if I, and I quote, Didn’t Stop all that Eight Fifty-Six and Six Seconds Precisely business I Would Be Looking at a Hammer From Below. And when I said, Mr. Insert Name Here, that this would invalidate my warranty, you said that I could take my warranty and--”
“I thought you’d lost that thing,” said Carrot.
“Hah,” said the Dis-organizer, “really? You thought he did? I don’t call putting something in your trouser pockets just before they go into the wash losing it.”
“That was an accident,” muttered Vimes.
“Oh? Oh? And dropping me in the dragon’s feeding bowl, that was accidental, too, was it?”

I'm off to the cinema to watch Close Encounters Of The Third Kind as part of a Spielberg season. I think the last time I watched it was in 2015 when an arts festival showed in on the Great Orme's ski slope (the Great Orme is allegedly a UFO hot spot, I've never seen one though)
A dry ski slope with people sat on it facing a large screen at the bottom.

Also saw some deer.
Quite a close picture of a deer with antlers. A deer on a very dried out golf course. There's a golf watching it. A bunch of deer in the shade of some trees. One was staring at me, probably trying to remember where they know me from.More deer in the shade of trees. These are sensibly lying down.

Accidentally visited the location used as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises.
A large fancy house on a hill with lots of brown grass and a blue sky. The rear of Wollaton Hall. It's very fancy. Upper left of the front of the hall. Lots of fancy bits of ornamentation. The top right of the hall, just as fancy as the left.

Didn't get good pictures of the sun, but got good pictures of the Orme and people out for the eclipse.
Quite brown looking grass on limestone, groups of people dotted around, their shadows cast behind themA drone view of a corner of the Orme. Cars line Marine drive. Across the sea in the distance are the Conwy Mountains. You can just about see Conwy Castle too. A drone shot pointing down from a great height. The bottom half is dark blue sea, the top a limestone cliff with very dry grass.

Pictures from our local golf course. I went to look because of a report of practice trenches from World War One being visible. Greens still fairly green.
A drone shot of a golf course, looking very brown from drought. Patches of green around the course. A closer drone shot of the golf course. The greens are still green as are some trees. A very dry looking course, some darker regular lines show where trenches once were.

Went up the Little Orme to see how long it'd take to go up for the eclipse on Wednesday. Still stupidly dry out there. Poor sheep in beige fields.
View of Llandudno bay. Blue sea, brown fields, Craigside houses nearer, Llandudno further away. Some white clouds with bits of blue visible in the sky. A view over the edge of the Little Orme rocky cliffs with brown grass leading down to rocks and a dark bluey green sea. Beige coulered fields frame on the bottom three edges with green trees, some paths visibly crossing the fields. The top of the Little Orme seen from the side. Brown grass and white limestone. You can just see me at the top waving, stood next to the trig point.

The Lego Donkey Kong arcade set is excellent.
A Lego version of the Donkey Kong arcade machine. It has a blue base with a white horizontal stripe. Then on a red flat area it has a central joystick, a barrel shaped lever on the left and a jump button on the right. The main body is a layout of girder platforms zigzagging up, with various ladders and hammers. Mario, Donkey Kong and Pauline are on the machine and the top has Donkey Kong spelled out in Lego. A pixel Mario made of one solid Lego piece Three Lego pieces built into the wall of the machine, they're coloured blue, skin colour and red, an abstract representation of Mario. 14 Lego barrels and 6 Lego oil drums

Went on a day trip to London to do a Pokémon thing then spend too much in the Lego. Actually had to queue for the Leicester Square store probably because they released so many new sets today. Got a little machine alongside the big purchases.
Signs advertising a Pokémon Go event in Shoreditch where you could get a free coffee and maybe win a trip to Japan. A huge queue for the free coffee at the Pokémon event. Pink and blue banners advertising the event surrounding the people. A box for the Lego technic Mighty Machines series. Eight little construction machines made of technic Lego on the front. A Lego cement mixer on a cardboard tile that looks a t-junction.

That's where I live in the preview image. I went out on Tuesday with a drone because some world war one practice trenches were now visible on a golf course. It's crazy how brown it all is, but seeing the lines was quite cool.
A dried out golf course, darker lines are visible which show where practice trenches had been dug over 100 years ago A wide shot of a golf course with a rail line running through it. The course is almost universally brown with odd green patches for the greens or small groups of trees. Llandudno, the Great Orme and the sea are visible in the background A closer view of the dried out golf course. Small islands of green dotted around the course.

I got it, but I think I'll stick with my Plus+. 35 is very limited (I know other players with larger limits) and it seems very slow to catch, I was surrounded by Pokémon and it wasn't trying to get any of them.

It works like this. Phrenology, as everyone knows, is a way of reading someone's character, aptitude and abilities by examining the bumps and hollows on their head. Therefore - according to the kind of logical thinking that characterizes the Ankh-Morpork mind - it should be possible to mould someone's character by giving them carefully graded bumps in all the right places. You can go into a shop and order an artistic temperament with a tendency to introspection and a side order of hysteria. What you actually get is hit on the head with a selection of different size mallets, but it creates employment and keeps the money in circulation, and that's the main thing
