Depends who has ownership, a stake or manages the human and natural resources of the area. If it's owned, managed and funded by a national or international cabal the benefits will flow dispropotionally to them depriving the local population.

And the 'hidden off shore AC' is a known, tracked and permitted account on the Central Bank ledger. It is definitely a BIG CLUB.

Fossil fuel use that damages the environment, should logically be a $ penalty to discourage its use and incentivise renewable substitutes, is encouraged by providing tax credits to a mega corporation. Faultless public policy? Fossil fools in power.

$$ that 'we' humans create from keyboards and mints that are used to mobilise, in part, resources that cause cumulative damage to our environment, our livelihood resources. How stupid. A coherent plan w/ the same $$ can be used to fix it. Will, majority support and leadership MIA.

Why involve the banks directly? A tax credit or direct subsidy to businesses could achieve a faster outcome.

Or have even bigger government and setup similar organisations for ever ethnic group in Australia. Alternatively, follow the 'never miss an opportunity' crowd and the major lobbyists donations to disassemble a 'fair go' principle.

Has he forgotten is DOGE experience of computers in Tresury and Defence that used a keyboard to issue currency into the economy to mobilize resources and ideas? Implication being his companies are also a recipient of government funding, credit and grants.

He could start with no neoliberal Blairities in a new cabinet, substituted with Corbynites.

Yet to read your article, but suspect fulfilling orders, manufacturing and installation of gas 'firming' plant generators is going to be a costly long duration project in Australia.

What should have been said was that the tax shifts speculative investment in homes towards people who want homes.

Australia left with a recurring giant submarine white elephant while every mid and small nation should be preparing, at worst, for integrated air, sea and submarine drone self defense scenarios.

This is how it goes: 'if I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning ....'. RBA watchers wait for the hammer but ignore the handouts to wealthy from interest rate hikes.

Butterflies (investors) tend to fly, in addition to nectar, to salt licks, usually rooted to soil and geography like gas. No choice, they will come if the tax settings allow for reasonable returns.

The real question is what is the comparison of taxes, royalties and SWFs with other LNG exporters, USA, Qatar? Similarly, a comparison of gas prices and reservations for domestic supply in producer countries. Australians still doneover.
