I attended the Acoustic Tour in Essen, Germany. It was an excellent show. Watch a recording of Dark on Fire here.

Turin Brakes are currently in mainland Europe for some Acoustic Shows in Germany and The Netherlands (some tickets still available!), but are also busy making plans for 2027. The first one was revealed yesterday. The band are joining rock band Sleeper on their End Of The World Tour in March and April 2027. The wonderful Turin Brakes will join them as special guests on all ten dates.

has relaunched Source, the influential label associated with artists including Turin Brakes, Air, Phoenix, Kings of Convenience, Turin Brakes and Simian, with its UK and French teams jointly leading A&R and creative direction. The revived Source Records will have an international focus on what they call 'developing' new artists for initial markets, and have signed four artists currently at launch. Turin Brakes were signed to Source Recordings during their first decade, releasing all their music on the label from 2000's…

On Saturday night, the Spirit of Talk Talk concert celebrated 40 years of The Colour of Spring. The concert featured multiple Turin Brakes members playing. Gale could be seen on guitar, Eddie Myer joined in on some songs (including on double bass) and Olly Knights sang on Give It Up and what appears to be the finale, Life's What You Make It:

Turin Brakes have announced a new Acoustic Tour, this time in The Netherlands in Germany. Although the band usually visits these countries to promote their new album, it's actually the first time the band plays mainland Europe as part of an acoustic tour. The dates are as follows: Tuesday 06 October 2026 - Lux, Hannover - Germany (tickets)

Turin Brakes are set to return to the Old Market in Hove (Brighton) on 25 November. This special one-night-only event will see the band perform an acoustic set spanning their celebrated back catalogue, alongside an exclusive, candid conversation with the audience. Expect a relaxed, bar-style atmosphere as they share stories, insights and behind-the-scenes moments from across their career. There will also be a live audience Q&A, offering the chance to ask your own questions. The band previously did an event like this in 2022 as part of the Reel Feedback podcast. Tickets will probably go fast for this.

Musicians from Talk Talk will reunite for a one-off show in London to mark the 40th anniversary of their classic album The Colour Of Spring. They will be joined by a whole host of musicians. The line-up of the Spirit of Talk Talk includes Simon Brenner (founder member of Talk Talk), Phil Ramocon, Ian Curnow, Sophie Barker (Zero 7), Gale Paridjanian, (Turin Brakes), Tim Elsenburg (Sweet Billy Pilgrim), Chris Hampson and Jacob Brown.

The first week of March is always special for Turin Brakes fans. Both The Optimist Lp and Ether Song came out in March. Ether Song has the iconic 03-03-03 release date, The Optimist Lp celebrated its 25th anniversary on Thursday (release date: 05 March 2001). A great night for a Turin Brakes live show, you'd say. And the fact is that Turin Brakes did play a live show that night as part of the…

Here's a nice live video of Future Boy, recorded by Mike, thanks for sharing and uploading!

Turin Brakes will participate in Record Store Day on the 18th April with an exclusive lime green 2LP 'Acoustic Live'. Recorded during their sold-out acoustic tour of 2019-20, Acoustic Live captures Turin Brakes at their most open and unfiltered (no overdubs or production tricks here..). These performances strip the songs right back, highlighting the band’s outstanding songwriting and harmony vocals. Featuring their top 5 hit “Pain Killer (Summer Rain)” alongside a selection of fan favourites and a few deeper cuts.

Thanks everyone who joined the livestream last Friday where we revealed the Turin Brakes Song of the Year results. Here's the top 50 of songs this year, with the number one being: TURIN BRAKES SONG OF THE YEAR 2025: Feeling Oblivion It was a tight race once again, with the difference being only one point in favor of the first Turin Brakes song from the first Turin Brakes album.

But we call it the Turin Brakes Song of the Year 2025. And we'll reveal our plans for the #TB25 gallery, a virtual exhibition of Turin Brakes "things" that we can discuss in the year to come.

Happy 2026 everyone. After a busy holiday period it's time to for another edition of the Song of the Year. What were you for favourite Turin Brakes songs this past year? Eddie Myer's jazz project QOW TRIO have announced the release of their third album. The new album is called The Rule of Three and will be released on Whirlwind Recordings on 30 January 2026. The album will be released on LP, CD and digital platforms. Pre-order via Bandcamp here. Listen to the single Egglet below. Three is the magic number in so many ways.

Turin Brakes collaborator and frequent support act Tom Speight has just released his new album Perfect Strangers. Recorded straight after Turin Brakes' latest record Spacehopper, Olly and Gale feature heavily on this album on backing vocals, solo guitar and bass guitar, as reflected in this polaroid overview of all involved personnel. The album is a rather sunny heartfelt guitar pop affair and features 10 songs, including advance tracks like…

Turin Brakes are now a 10-album-band. Last Friday Spacehopper landed on earth and we all could listen to a set of 11 new Turin Brakes tunes. While I'll save my official review for when my physical copies finally arrive (I want to hold the album in my hands first, I'm old-fashioned I guess), it's nice to see fans and media reacting to it online.

Back in the Ether Song days, the band were asked what they'd say to fans who might need time to get used to the different sound of the second album compared to the acoustic lo-fi vibes of The Optimist Lp... Some of my Turin Brakes friends and me still refer to that "Hop on the Turin Brakes bus"-mentality the band mentioned in that context.

Turin Brakes have released a third song from their upcoming album Spacehopper. The song is called Old Habits. A video will be available from 8 AM UK time: But you can already stream the song on your favourite streaming service. The song is slower and more introspective than previous released songs from Spacehopper and features some prominent slide guitar and even some piano in the latter stages.

Turin Brakes have announced shows in record stores and intimate venues across England starting on the 23rd of May, the release date of their 10th album Spacehopper. In a Instagram post, the band posted: To celebrate the release of our new album Spacehopper (out 23rd May!), we’ll be heading out for a short run of special stripped-back performances at some of our favourite record shops around the UK.

Turin Brakes have announced a string of European tour dates. Per tradition, the band plays shows in Italy, Germany and The Netherlands. In February there are four dates in Italy, including Rome and Turin (Torino). The tour continues in late February and March with dates in Hamburg and Berlin. After München and Cologne they'll play three dates in Groningen, Amsterdam and Tilburg.

Tom Speight is gearing up for a new album release it seems. Now he has released a new song called Higher, which features vocals and musical work by a lot of Turin Brakes members. Tom Speight spent last Summer in the studio, right after Turin Brakes finished their upcoming album (any day now? please?) so a lot of the members of Turin Brakes helped out during the recording sessions.

Last Friday we had a fun fun stream full of Turin Brakes live material and silly banter. You can watch it again on YouTube, but for those of you who are just curious to see what song became song of the year... Here are the results: Long Distance Feeling Oblivion Isolation Bye Pod Underdog (Save Me) The Sea Change…
