If a tariff affects car prices, it’s worth talking about. If a car manufacturer CEO regularly promotes a white nationalist and anti-immigrant agenda, car buyers may want to consider if they will financially support that.

I appreciate that some may turn to car videos to avoid politics, but often “keep politics out of” just means “don’t present a viewpoint that I don’t share”. Or “I like how things are and I don’t want anyone challenging that.” Or "Just entertain me."

New comment on my Best Family Car of '84 vid: "X-bodies (Citation/Phoenix) were good family cars" I appreciate these cars, especially through the lens of nostalgia. But I'm old enough to remember stories from owners about how poorly built and unreliable they were. Do people truly love these cars?

Yes adding on to what others have said, there was a tariff based on purchase price. At the time this crossed the border I think the tariff was 10%. This car was pretty cheap, so not too painful. But still, these tariffs are so dumb.

Is it that the expectations for Tesla build quality are still so low, all bad things are simply ignored? I guess if you can ignore the fact that Tesla’s CEO is actively attempting to dismantle American democracy, it’s probably pretty easy to accept a car that that steers you into a ditch
