Anyone have any fish field guide recs? Been having fun going through my trove of aquarium pics but would be nice to learn more about the fish. These are all pacific reef fish i think, mostly puffer/box fish family #art #sciart #sundayfishsketch

More #riso test prints. Trying to print up all my central park pollinators. I didnt draw these specifically for riso printing so the cymk ish separations have been super fiddly. Using blue, yellow, fluorescent pink, and brown inks #sciart #printmaking #art

Working on a new #riso print today. Hunter green ink turned out darker than expected so had to do some tweaks. First layer printed with yellow and raspberry #fish #SciArt #illustration

Hi #PortfolioDay I'm a freelance science and nature illustrator from New England. I love drawing native species I find on my walks, especially if they're weird and warty. Dream job would be to work on a non-fiction picture book

Had a great time sketching at the new york aquarium the other week. Could really only draw the sleepy ones while I was there so I maxed out my phone storage with reference pics and had fun with posca markers at home. #fish #sketch #sciart

Tropical fish sketches. Some type of puffer top, a parrot middle, no idea the bottom one

Another #pollinator closeup. This time a cabbage white butterfly. This might be my favourite flower in the series, and I had fun sneaking my friend and their dog in the background. #SciArt #art #bug #butterfly #InsectSky #botanical

Be working on this one for far too long but I present to you "Central Park #Pollinators," based on bugs I saw in the park last summer. The plan is to print it as an accordion book but it also works as a big ol sign #sciart #bugs #invert #art #centralpark #botanical #procreate

So excited it's vernal pool season again. Eastern red #newt and some of my favourite moss and lichen (Peltigera) I've seen in Vermont. Original digital illo and #riso print, using my own funky spot colour separation. #sciart #lichen #illustration #art #nature #procreate

Original digital illustration. The lichen is definitely a Peltigera, inclined to neopolydactyla cause it has some pretty long rhizines vs polydactylon, can post ref pics if anyone wants to help id

Riso print, using blue, orange, and yellow. Orange drum was a lil broken so got kinda stronger than expected but I kinda like the warm vibe.

More #riso prints from my #lichen close ups series. Both from the genus Cladonia, the one that looks more fingery in the sub group Cladina. Fun fact the tips are dark with the same melanin pigment we have as sun protection for new growth #botany #art #sciart #printmaking #illustration

One of my favourite illustrations from last year, showing fish I saw on a trip to the new england aquarium. Originally made it for a two colour riso print but have had fun rearranging bits for some mock editorial layouts. Need to draw more fish #art #illustration #fish #aquarium #editorial

Slowly migrating over. Stupid obsessed with #lichens so starting with a #riso print from a poster series I did last year of lichen close ups. This ones the tip of a Cladonia squamosa branch. In theory they look like dragons? #illustration #scienceillustration #botany #art #procreate
