The recent pedestrianization of many key streets in Warsaw is the latest case of this effective model that changes how the city is seen locally and globally. Many cities can learn from Warsaw!

This #PlaceLedDevelopment has driven investment though inclusive public spaces, driving integration of people(including Ukrainian refugees) and investment in ways that support local culture and local economies.

Highlights from a quick visit to Warsaw, Poland after #PlacemakingWeekEurope. Visits to several Polish cities have inspired me to try to learn more about Poland's successful development model through public realm investment. #PlacemakingPoland #PlacemakingEurope #Placemaking #UrbanDesign

Poland has been a model country for leading it's development through public realm infrastructire investment. It's growing momentum with #PlacemakingPoland builds on this nicely. A great host for #PlacemakingWeekEurope!

If you're looking for the next big IPO after SpaceX, I offer you PlaceX! Invest in place, as a hedge against us all going to space. Some investing in space opens up an opportunity for these rest of us to invest in place - while drawing to space that which no longer supports place.

👏😊 Time for a NYC shaped by all, for all. Affordability starts with public space for all to enjoy. Shared places that people love anchor and support inclusive, diverse economies and drive local investment, further attracting and attaching talent to further build the city. 😍🇺🇸

Livability is still a goal which everyone deserves, but how we currently delivery livability undermines its potential, and in many ways causes the affordability crisis globally.

111

Ethan Kent @ethankent.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

Placemaking and housing affordability have been in each-other’s blind spots, but could together be harnessed to accelerate each-other's viability and impact. Placemaking for lovability can help achieve livability more affordably, inclusively, and quickly.
