They wanted a distraction from the Israel/ Palestine war which has waned in favorability publicly but actually just highlighted the hypocrisy. And has made even more ppl, including Americans sympathizers of their plight.

Also they sayin this is having the opposite effect bc instead of destroying Iran, the US has really just brought the diff sects of Iranian ppl together to forgo their differences to defeat a common enemy, and gave the youth of Iran a rejuvenated cause to fight and unify

They call out how this administration only seeks to enrich themselves. If we have the most powerful military joined with Israel who claims to be 4th in the world how weak they look on the world stage to still not have succeeded in their original stated goals.

There’s a parallel of David and Goliath between the military prowess here. It’s not specifically stated but I can def see the similarities

For all of the imperialism that the US has done, money spent on wars, lives lost, are our lives tangibly better off or worse?

The writer really lays this out well, a solid thesis in the beginning and clearly lays out what questions they will attempt to answer and what does that mean for the average American.

It’s 1am and I’m up reading the open letter that Iran wrote to the everyday American. It’s too late to really delve into this properly and I’m only on page 8/26 but man, they are making really sound points. Every American should read this especially before casting votes for the midterms.

We’re moving 10,000 low-income children off the child care voucher waitlist — at absolutely no cost to their families. Eligible families with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years, and through age 19 for children with special needs, will be invited to apply for a voucher on a rolling basis.

Mayor Mamdani and others make an announcement at a podium with signage that reads “Child Care for all”

they’re all in special education or reading specialists & the hope, that they always strongly held onto for years when i left & complained, is literally gone in at least 2 of them. but the good part is they already know it’s their time to leave, they started to figure out what’s next.

i saw my college friends last night, all who work in education, & basically they’re at their limits. i have never seen them this exasperated w/ the system. these women are the most dedicated educators i’ve ever known, but burnout is only inevitable in this broken system.
