A Cuckoo Bumble Bee at Saddle Mountain State Recreation Area, Astoria, OR. Foraging on ragwort near the trailhead. Screenshots from video taken on 08/03/2026. #macrophotography #bumblebees #ecology #nature #photography

A yellow and black bumble bee. Abdomen is striped in these colors; yellow bands are dominant. Mostly yellow hairs except black between wing base, black complex eyes and between the eyes, yellow primary on face surrounding black antennae. Hairs are fairly long, giving the bee a fuzzy or shaggy appearance.

This bee is collecting nectar.
