LI on behalf of 57 States on the Use of the Veto: • The #VetoInitiative has ensured that vetoes are no longer the end of the conversation. • The GA can take action when the Security Council is blocked. • We must also fully implement the Charter provision that a 'party to a dispute' shall not vote.

LI delivers a statement on behalf of 34 States, at meeting under the #VetoInitiative: • #UNSC Resolution 2774 disregarded the expressed will of the #UNGA. • Russia is a ‘party to a dispute’ in the situation in Ukraine, and therefore should have abstained from voting, under #UNCharter Article 27.3.
