We did it! Pit of Eden reached (and exceeded) its goal with a nice round 200 backers. Thank you to everyone who backed, shared, liked, and otherwise spread the word! www.kickstarter.com/projects/mal...

A 160-page comic anthology of Babylonian non-binary body horror

Okay, but I would definitely read that romance

000

Like I already pay for Microsoft for work. You're not gonna convince me to pay to store emails

000

Everybody wants me to pay for more storage. Little do they know the degree to which I will inconvenience myself to avoid giving a cent more than necessary to yet another tech company

11. If you back this project tonight, you'll help us all sleep a bit better

000

10. It's just super fun and weird, y'all. It was a real pleasure to see scripts develop and turn into captivating comics, and I really want you all to see it! www.kickstarter.com/projects/mal...

A 160-page comic anthology of Babylonian non-binary body horror

9. Prints! We've got 4 6X9 print options from artists Charles Hamel, Brenna Baines, Stephanie Brennan, and Lorena Torres Loaiza

A half skeletonized woman sprouts monsters from her hair

121

8. Stickers! I mean, just look at these guys (designed by Catherine Waring and Stephanie Pitcher)

A set of four stickers: 1. two frogs fused together 2. biblically accurate angels 3. evil cherubs 4. creepy dog creature

121

7. Bonus poems & scripts! Malcolm simply couldn't stop writing, so we've got a reward tier that includes all the extras we couldn't fit in the anthology. Perfect for those who want a little insight into curation

6. Body horror. Our artists did an amazing job depicting the strange, gross, upsetting transformations in these comics! It's hard to describe disgusting organs and face ripping as nice to look at, but if body horror is your thing, you'll want to look

5. Range in art styles and in stories. We've got hopeful comics and comics that might keep you up at night. We've got comics reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons and others that are dark and gritty. Something for everyone, might I say?

4. Creatures and monsters! I'm not talking your typical zombies and such, I'm talking shapeshifting dogs, clay men, bipedal deer, half-lion soldiers, spider-like bugs. Some want to learn, some want to show, others want to kill!

3. LGBTQ+ representation. We've got it in the characters and in the creators involved in Pit of Eden. The non-binary comics in this collection range from hopeful to rebellious, and they're some of my favourites!

121

2. Babylonian mythology. Who didn't go through a phase of being mythology obsessed as a teen? If you were into Greek/Roman/Egyptian mythology, maybe Babylonian myths would interest you too

1. Human creators. If you value real human made stories and art, you gotta support human creators. 17+ people (14 artists, one writer, one editor, one cover artist, and a handful of readers/consultants) contributed to Pit of Eden

We have less than 24 hours left on the #PitOfEden Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com/projects/mal...) and we still need about $1500 to reach our goal, so here are some reasons you should back this awesome anthology:

Happy independent bookstore day! Please take a moment to support your local independent bookstores. Without them we would not have access to so many indie and marginalized authors. I always send folks to indie bookstors when they ask where they can get my books.

The Ereshkigal story in #PitOfEden has wonderful dark fairy tale vibes and @pangolinart.bsky.social captured it perfectly!
