Hi from SoCal! We're ground zero for an experiment in *sending your military against your own people* while still being, nominally, a democracy. How are all Y'ALL doing? 🫣

The tragicomedy of people who take the time to tell you, with multiple sock puppets, they hate you and your work and *you* need to go get a real life. It's fascinating.

A couple of the hater comments to my fic have disappeared. As if someone isn't proud to leave their vitriolic ranting that was met by a neutral "then don't read it" and freezing left up for all posterity! Weird. So anyway that's nice. LOL

Today I've received both glowing praise from a woman who wants to do up some comic panels from one of my stories, and a polite if a bit condescending note that as my work fails to show growth I should perhaps move on to other projects where I would probably do just great. Same piece, BTW. (1/2)

Dear sibs of the Resistance: "all religion is a lie and if you like one you're either evil or stupid" is not actually the fresh hot take you think it is. Nor is it very good alliance-building with leftist believers (who are here. Hi!).

Julie/Estara @estarasanatani.bsky.social · 22/05/2025

I truly, honestly don't know why people bother to leave hate comments on fanfic. No one's making them read it. Good thing I've got enough sense of myself as a writer not to take it seriously. *shrug*

Today's fun fact about Catholics: MAGA Protestants accuse them of being the far left and secular leftists accuse them of being the far right.

Julie/Estara @estarasanatani.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

Anyway, congratulations and good health to our new Pope Leo XIV! Also, a polite reminder to MAGAs, members of ICE, and so on that it is never a bad time to repent. Turning your back on cruelty feels good and pleases the Lord, give it a try!

It's interesting how much of this there is in American Catholicism: "This is the one true faith where we are taught to follow whatever the line of bishops and Popes have said. Unless they're Vatican II or later, cause screw that." *blinks*

I just noticed the existence of a Youtube by some super-Protestant channel through having one of its videos in my feed: "Explaining the Hersey of the Catholic Mass." Oh no. I hate hersey. It's not good chocolate. (PS. They were the Church first you ninnies.)

Sirach 34:21-22 (NLT Catholic) Bread is life for the needy and the poor. Whoever deprives them of it is a murderer. Those who take away a person's livelihood are murderers. Those who deprive an employee of wages shed blood.

Does it ever bother you that the Psalms and Sappho's poetry were songs considered good enough to keep forever but they only wrote down the words so we've lost the melodies? It bothers me.

Did you know that in fact the reason Catholics give catechumenates a year before baptism is NOT that they read and study the entire catechism? Am I doing it, though? Yep. Typical me. If I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna go overboard with it.
