Don't forget Gaza! Ben Jennings in the Guardian today!

It's called the corporate takeover of the US. I think this exchange between me and my wife says it all.

And we should never forget this:

For our final-year project at school, three classmates and I got away with performing Johan H. Wessel’s “Love Without Stockings”(script in hand), a parody of a tragedy. It ends with all four of us dead on the stage with the whole school watching. Still one of my finest exits 😜😂 (Smørebrød=Sandwich)

All I will say on the subject :D

"You must not so calmly endure an injustice that does not touch you yourself." Arnulf Øverland's poem (in a rough translation) from 1936 - the signs were there to see if you wanted to. One of my favourite poems! Hope all is well Doc.

I do agree that UK pensions are insulting low. BUT what is proposed is NOT to take money away from pensjoners. I agree we should have a wealth tax, that billionaires are an insult, BUT what CAN be done and PASS? It is not the best possible solution, but it might be the best solution possible?

Espen Gisvold @espengis.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

About right I'd say. What do you think?

How many lies can you find? How fing vain is it possible to be??

Espen Gisvold @espengis.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Twice as many people are waiting twice as long for treatment. THIS is the reason for the "explosion" of the welfare bill. It is expensive to not treat people. This is what underfunding of the NHS leads to. Fund and rebuild the NHS and most of the welfare bill "problem" would be solved!

Back in the 70's we called it Monopoly capitalism, I don't think we thought it would accelerate to this level!

Otto Nielsens great anti fascist song. We hav to get to a place where he is staying down!

Espen Gisvold @espengis.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

This is my attempt on a quick translation of the great songwriter Otto Nielsens old anti-fascist song. Unfortunately, he still wont lay down! There is a thread from Hitler, via Franco, Salazar, Pinochet to Trump, Musk and Putin. We cannot stop fighting fascism until Mister Hitler is staying down!

The Guardian today! Corrupt bastards.

Espen Gisvold @espengis.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Ringnes Brewery about 100 years ago had a competition to make the best drinking song to an old tune. This is it (In translation). Text by Claus Pavels Riis and music allegedly by a Schulz. The moral in those days - always bring your wife when you go out to fetch your beer.

They do. One of my favourite poems in my amateur translation.

This is a translation of one of my favourite poems. It is, I believe from 1936 and the collection of Nordahl Grieg with the name "Freedom". Stay strong and honour your fallen!

I say no more. It is a STUPID use of energy!

21.8.68 Sovjet tanks rolled into Prag. Never forget!

Not only are they polluting, they are bad economics! We as a society get more value and work by using the energy on other energy intensive industries! If you read Norwegian, the report can be found here: www.ssb.no/teknologi-og... Stop the destructive use of our planet!

Social media needs to be regulated. I'm looking forward to the outcome of the court case against meta just starting. I have tried to use Asimov's three laws of robotics to create three laws of Social media, and given that we live in a capitalist system, I think they are not bad! What do you think?

I'm sure a total eclipse is amazing - a 90% is a damp squib! I have no problem with that, BUT the over hype I hate. This was as exciting as it got! I learned in my programming days it was better to under promise and over deliver rather than the other way around. I have never seen more over promise!

I have always had this as MY mantra. I'm not the one to judge if I managed or not, but that dosen't make the advice less valid!
