Performance anxiety really is something. I’ll be on the gig thinking I should’ve changed careers a decade ago, then get hit with back to back compliments from audience members and my fellow musicians, and then book another gig within a couple hours. It’s a Gigsmas Miracle. 🎄

I am at a festival for a music scene that currently only has one bassist. The festival is in a hilly forest venue and he runs the trails between stages to get to every set, carrying his stand-up bass. People give him beers and snacks as he passes. Anyway, I have an idea for a new Olympic sport.

So typically, new violins will need a new sound post around 6 months to a year after being completed and played in. Of course, Anansi has decided that now would be a good time to start screaming for one. Luckily, there’s a luthier nearby I can consult to help me with this. It’s me. I’m the luthier.
