70 yrs ago today, the Soviet Army liberated Auschwitz. 1.2 million people were killed there, mostly Jews. FDR didn't bomb the tracks leading there earlier bc bombs were needed elsewhere, it was beyond range (false), and it'd kill innocents, which didn't prevent Allies from flattening cities at large
