That's only one issue from which they need distraction. This is key. She poses as a moderate, when only taking moderate votes when she's been given permission by GOP leadership. She did this, not only to forward her own career, but to help the GOP politically. Though their positions are horrendous, a brazen true-believer is more forgivable than a fake.

Stephen Miller's continuous need for fresh anti-immigrant sadism porn seems to be escalating. I read in The New Republic that DHS shut down a plan to create a FEMA-style camp that would be more humane than warehousing prisoners, but Miller was against it, instead wanting it to be deliberately cruel.

John Roberts' Court has done many horrific, unforgivable things, but Citizens United, gutting the Voting Rights Act and bestowing immunity on Trump together deliberately sought to destroy representative democracy as we've always known it. The upcoming Dem Congress must pass laws to undo these ASAP.

I'm sorry you're so cynical. It's understandable, given the parade of shallow public figures we have to wade through. But Jack Smith doesn't fit in that category; he spent his time at the ICC prosecuting war crimes; then did dogged investigations of Trump despite threats of jail. Not a politician.

We see that in Trump. He gets a momentary "hit" from cruelty, insult, punishment, but it's clear he's not a happy man. He doesn't seem to take pleasure in anything. Otherwise he would not constantly seek validation, admiration, monuments to himself, more money, more power. He's a bad, unhappy man.

I don't think she was paid off. She was a spoiler in 2016 focusing on specific issues that she felt were KEY, but then completely disappeared. We didn't see her work toward her ideals. She only popped up again each election & now, right before the midterms, here she is again speaking ill of Dems.
