I finally did the thing. but I still really think all color-based testing that occurs on a monitor should be taken with a pile of salt lol.

My JND is 0.0037. The blurb says, "Genuinely remarkable. You sailed past the theoretical human limit like it owed you money. I'd accuse you of cheating but I don't actually know how you'd cheat at this."

If you support Naughty Dog (as a company), I have no respect for you. If you still eat this shit up, I DOUBLY have no fucking respect for you

Screenshot of Naughty Dog's wikipedia page. It shows how Naughty Dog has milked the hell out of The Last of Us. The initial release is in 2013, then Left Behind in 2014, AND a Remastered release of the original in 2014. Then Part II in 2020, and Part I in 2022, and Part II remastered in 2024. Like come the fuck on. Y'all let yourselves get disrespected like this?

A screencap from the game Persona 5. At the bottom of the screen, the cat-shaped mascot tells the protagonist, "It's getting pretty late. Let's call it a day and go to sleep." This happens so much in the game that it's become a meme.

got lunch and cake to celebrate Kaveh's cake day 🥰

A photo of a very delicious looking roast beef sandwich. In the background is a second sandwich, slightly indistinct but since you've come to the alt text I can tell you: it was an "Asian barbecue salmon sandwich". I'm not sure what part of it was Asian but it seemed really delicious. Seemed because none was shared with me 😕

A picture of a decadent looking individually sized cake. It is slim and rectangular and covered in a gleaming layer of chocolate. There are small, pink flower petals decoratively placed atop, and a decorative green-teal-ish scribble beneath. It almost looks like a certain somebody's colors....

The inside of the decadent cake from the previous picture. There are layers of chocolate mousse, pistachio cream, and other elements I can't remember but that were incredibly tasty. 20 out of 10 would eat again.

I'm so fucking sick of how msm is reporting this. eat shit and die

A screencap of a preview of a BBC article. The title says 'King of the Hill' and 'Parks and Rec' Actor Shot Dead. Below is the lead, which says, "Jonathan Joss's husband says it was a homophobic hate crime, but police say there's no evidence of that."

I want you to know, reader, that the police are lying pigs and that there is plenty of evidence that it was a homophobic hate crime and that they have been the targets of such crime for years now but the police refused to help them no matter how many times they asked. Fuck the police. ACAB.

Worth noting that even non US residents can comment! I wrote up a guide on what the FAFSA is, the proposed changes, and the problem with it for a friend of mine. Attached are the guide, old (24-25) FAFSA, and the proposed changes on the new FAFSA. Also note the removal of "prefer not to answer" 😬

A cap of the explanation of the FAFSA and the proposed changes. Sorry, this is about to be long.

FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It’s the form that all students studying in the US fill out if they want to receive financial aid for college, career school, or graduate school. Financial aid includes both need-based grants and federal loans. In addition, filling out the FAFSA first is a requirement for many non-federal student aid options-- for instance, if your school has additional grants that they give to applicants in need (vs typical student aid that is funding paid directly by the federal government), they will generally require you to have completed the FAFSA first.

What we are commenting on are proposed changes being made to the FAFSA form for the 2026-27 school year.

The problem is this: When they collect student demographic information, on the previous FAFSA (2024-2025 school year) the options are as follows- Male, Female, Nonbinary, Prefer Not To Answer. In the proposed changes for the 26-27 FAFSA, they have changed that section so that a student may only answer Male or Female, and Prefer Not To Answer isn't even available anymore. That's the change we're writing to oppose.

A screencap of the Student Demographic Information for the 2024-25 FAFSA form. It reads as follows:

The answers will not affect the student's eligibility for federal student aid, be used in any calculations, or be shared with the schools to which the student applies. They will be used for research purposes only.

Below that is a question which asks, "What is the student's gender?" and lists the following options w/radial buttons to choose one: Male, Female, Nonbinary, or Prefer not to answer.

Below that is says: "Nonbinary" refers to a student who does not identify exclusively as male or female. "Nonbinary" does not refer to a transgender student who identifies exclusively as either male or female. Transgender students should select the gender with which they identify at the time this form is completed.

Shown are three cells in a table from the documents submitted showing the proposed changes to the FAFSA form. The leftmost cell says 11, which is the question number. The middle cell has the data element and says "Student Demographic Information: Sex (Male, Female)." There is no nonbinary option, nor an option to opt out.
