Yes, but no one wants to be seen as a USAnian! I am a Canadian and have been mistaken as being from the USA many times outside Canada. When I correct the person, a whole lot of insight is gained. That happened way before Trump too. I feel sorry for the good people in the USA.

The USA won't be trusted for a long time. I'm a Canadian. On one hand it's sad to see. There are many good Americans. On the other hand American people built and believed a myth about themselves and ignored the weaknesses in their democracy. American fascism was not a surprise.

We have never had a castle doctrine in law. But our gun laws were fairly lax until 1989 with the Montreal massacre. Fourteen women killed at the Ecole Polytechnic.

Chapman's also treats their employees really well. Many years ago their factory had a fire. While they rebuilt they found another facility to keep production going and people employed. I talked to some of those employees. They were very grateful. They also looked after them during Covid

Canada has a lot of long guns for hunting & sporting. We don't have a culture of guns for personal defence. When I worked as a police officer, at the end of my shift I put my gun in my locker and went home. Most of my friends in the US would prefer the gun culture was different.

Generally, the cultures of the US and Canada are different. Canadians are not a fearful people. We don't take guns to the grocery store. Our cities are multicultural, and it makes us who we are.

The new trade and security relationships with the EU and others have shown Canada has moved on with more trustworthy countries. If American citizens do their part, ( I'm preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. ) it will help. Good luck, USA don't mess it up again.

I was a young first responder in Canada. I was ready to help any way I could. I have lots of Canadian veteran friends who are still hurt with unseen injuries. That knife in the back from the USA is real.

I really like your thinking on this. I grew up with a steelworker father who had little tolerance for sitcoms. For us, it was TVO, CBC & PBS. He loved the nature shows. I loved the history. We had an agreement: when Mark Russel was on PBS, it was time for me to get up and change the channel.

You have underestimated the anger and betrayal in Canada. Canadian forces after 9/11 died in defence of the USA. Canadians have always helped the US. The USA elected Trump twice and his GOP senators, congress members. The USA threatens our sovereignty. You want us to be nice? We didn’t get a vote.

Every day there is a new and more disgusting WTF USA!!!🤷‍♂️This is not our military. The Cadet program creates citizens that surpass the quality of people the USA’s leadership is displaying to the world! My kids all did this program. They are good people! The USA need a Cadet Corps to make good people!

Everyday I'm more and more disgusted with what I see from the USA. When I think they hit bottom they dig a deeper hole. The USA needs a program like the Cadets. It teaches leadership responsibility and respect. The USA is not showing that to the world. (yes I know there are good some people)

Canada has picked up around 64 top scientists and researchers from the US for our Universities. The school I graduated from, McMaster, got 5! Last year, Yale’s experts on fascism, Tim Snyder, Marci Shore and Jason Stanley, moved to the University of Toronto.
