If Justice Alito retires, he could well be replaced by a 40-year-old ultra-conservative. It’s no overstatement to say the next 50 years of American jurisprudence are on the ballot this fall. To provide a check on Trump’s nominees, we need a Democratic Senate. Vote accordingly.

The race for Attorney General is about who will fight for you. I’ve taken on polluters, predators, and the President himself. I’ve fought for your rights—and will always do so as AG. I’ve got your back.

BREAKING: The Detroit Free Press—Michigan’s largest newspaper—just endorsed us for AG, calling it the “most important race” in Michigan. This race is about protecting our rights, & standing up to powerful interests. I’ve fought those fights throughout my career. And I’ll do so as AG.

The race for Attorney General is fundamentally a job application process in which candidates are vying to be your lawyer. It’s not about me. Not about my opponent. It’s about you—and who’s going to fight for you against even the most powerful of interests.

It’s unconscionable to think that the biggest corporations on the planet would ask residential ratepayers to shoulder their electricity costs. That they’d deplete our natural resources. Or that we’d allow them to bully local communities. I’ll stand up as AG.

Michigan ratepayers deserve an AG who’ll fight for them—not just offer lip service. That means an AG who’ll turn down utility money, & stand against distorting influence of money in politics. And it means being willing to stand up to the President himself. Full debate link in comments ⬇️.

Trump is trying to force an old, inefficient coal-fired power plant to remain open in west Michigan—and ratepayers are going to be asked to shoulder the excess costs. Make no mistake: I’ll continue fighting for ratepayers, our health, and the environment as AG.

I was honored to receive such a warm welcome from MEA retirees in Lansing today! As Attorney General, I’ll always fight for kids, educators, and public schools—as well as the retirees who dedicated their careers to building a brighter future.

Tonight—thanks to the efforts of AG Nessel & Democratic AGs across the nation—SCOTUS rejected Trump’s efforts to disenfranchise voters, & rewrite the rules in the middle of an election. As AG, I’ll continue fighting to ensure our elections are free, fair, & final. My statement.

25 years ago, our nation suffered a catastrophic wound. Today in Ann Arbor, we marked the 25th anniversary of 9/11 by ringing the firehouse bell, and reading the names of every first responder who was killed. We must never forget the victims, the heroes—and those who were both.

“The Michigan Mamdani” 😱. For some reason, that’s what national Republican groups who are trying to buy Michigan’s elections are calling me. They must mean—like Mamdani—I’m obsessed with lowering costs, safer communities, and ensuring everyone can afford to eat at great local businesses. Right?

There’s only one candidate in this race that refuses corporate and utility contributions. And only one candidate who’s pledged, unambiguously, to stand with Michigan families suffering from ever-higher electrical costs. (It’s me). Full story from Planet Detroit ⬇️

Hate has no home in Michigan. That’s true if it’s criminals targeting communities. Or if it’s politicians using our differences to divide us. We are stronger together, stronger as one. My remarks in Dearborn yesterday.

The Supreme Court just allowed the Trump Administration to move forward with plans to restrict mail-in voting. Fights remain. Democratic AGs will continue leading them. But make a backup plan to vote now. And in November, remember who’s trying to take so much away from you.

Congress’s efforts to regulate cryptocurrency must include basic safeguards—including preserving the ability to hold bad actors accountable, and ensuring that the President cannot profit from markets the government regulates. My op-ed in the Detroit News (link in comments).

We care about each other, and that’s what unites us as Democrats. I have never seen a Democrat call to cut healthcare, food assistance, or to sacrifice their constituents’ well-being out of fealty to this President. That’s why I’m proud to be a member of this party—and coalition—today & every day.

Todd Blanche was confirmed early this morning as US Attorney General—after promising to take abortion bans nationwide. Not on my watch. Michigan voters made the choice to defend reproductive freedom. And as Michigan AG, I will defend that choice—and the choices of every woman.

Thought Michigan’s battle for reproductive freedom was over? Think again. Trump’s anti-choice AG said “victory will be soon and permanent.” Not on my watch. In ‘22, I fought to secure abortion rights in Michigan. You can bet I’ll be in court fighting for repro rights as AG.
