It's was cheaper than a golf in the USA because it was built on Mexico but it was as expensive if not more expensive than a golf on Europe even though it had lower quality and a smaller range. The design was great but the rest of the approach wasn't. It should have been a halo product

McLaren should have been the one to exploit and expand the F1 heritage, they're the proper ip owner after all. Apart from a few cosmetic trims and the bland speedtail they ignore it even if they watch it gradually achieve god like status.

In some ways F1 still is better than the T50 (ex. notice the whining noise inside, present at all road tests!), crazy given the time gap, budget and ambition. When G. Murray launched GMD with T.25/T.27, I expected groundbreaking products, wet got some niche F1 variants instead

F1 was mainly a Gordon Murray project, but the input of Peter Stephens, Ron Dennis and even Mansour Ojjeh made it what it was. T50 is similar but quite a departure in many ways. S1/LM looks cool, better than the T50, but not better than the F1 (despite the 34 years gap!)

Hot take: this is *a* solution but not *the* solution, topology optimised structures like these may be good (like this Czinger) or bad. People treat them as THE optimum solution, it's not, in most cases you can visually see that there is material (or lack of) in the wrong places

Gallardo & Murcielago are two of the best looking Lamborghinis ever. Luc Donkerwolke really was a worthy Gandini successor. He said that working for Lamborghini was a sharp contrast from the central european or california based design studios but the result was outstanding

partial solar eclpise - photo from 2006 nearby Athens, shot with my 5mp Sony DSC-H1 (my first digital camera!) with a custom "filter" made from two old film negatives. No tripod or zoom lens, I just wanted to see the solar eclipse without eyesight damage! Cool photos was a bonus!

Bugatti Destrier looks like a swan song of Bugatti's VW-era. Unfortunately it's just a one-off, but like its Bolide sibling it shows the potential and range of the original W16 architecture. Tourbillion despite its V16 engine looks a bit derivative compared to the W16 range

Two Bell 214ST collided mid-air when the tube of one of them crashed into the main rotor of the other, probably due to proximity error by the pilot of the higher flying helicopter. They were operating during the wildfires near Athens and currently all 214STs are suspended.

#GoPro lifehack: if a battery suddenly dies and the camera doesn't open at all (or not even charging with this battery in) just leave it on the charger for a few hours, it's probably unbalanced and it will gradually come to life again.
