I did a big survey here and on twitter. One question was about if people would rather I do more fan art or my own OCs and 70% said OCs, which I didn't expect at all

Thanks for linking the example, it actually helps a lot. I'm surprised you noticed the grain specifically, it's subtle so I didn't think people would notice it. I'll try remind myself to use it more (even though it makes file sizes double 😅)

That recent piece is actually also from a few years ago lol so that's why it's stylistically similar, and overall I think I prefer that look. From other feedback I think experimenting with textures and a looser style like my old work is a good direction to go in. Thanks for helping!

(3/3) So that's something I've been trying to think of a solution to, possibly being able to loosen up but allow for busier scenes as a result. A way to have more room to flex like you say 😂 Thanks for the feedback!

(2/3) This one was actually one of my earlier mystery commissions before I had a clear idea of how much time I could spend per comm, and how much was overboard. The problem is that I really like it but took more time than I could realistically allow for a mystery comm at the time

(1/3) I do tend to rely on the same backlit setup partly because it's quick which is (unfortunately) very important when my main work is commissions. Same for YCH, that's one of my ways of giving people a cheaper commission option and I have some other comm types in the works for that same problem

The hair thing is probably because it's mostly just painting with the drawing only being a guideline. It gives a softer look compared to clear lines and separation

It doesn't have to be the details necessarily! For me it just feels like there's something about some of my older work that I find more interesting, but it's very vague and might be my imagination lol But more backgrounds would be a good idea!
