iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Social definitely has to be easy and quick. That’s also why I made the rules to AudioMo so simple “record audio, post the the audio with AudioMo hastag” that’s it. Joining a social media platform should be as simple as reading what AudioMo is.

Haha Friendster lol 😂 Agreed about this place though. I self host on Mastodon. But it’s definitely quieter over there. I know why. The official app is extremely poor. The 3rd party apps are awesome. Signing up to Mastodon, you have to find a server that suits you, nobody wants to do that.

Yep I thought it would be a thing that became the thing, but it hasn’t. At least MySpace will be back soon lol. Oddly I can still log into my MySpace account, so not sure it ever closed.

Today marks three years since the iconic Sycamore Gap tree was illegally felled. We're pleased to bring you new images which reveal how the stump is growing, a sure sign that the tree is in recovery.

The stump is hidden by a thick ring of green shoots

Geary e-mail client, reborn? Kinda! Convey is built from the same code, but adds new features and a UI port to GTK4. It's available to install from Flathub.

Obscura VPN now has a desktop app for Linux. While VPNs aren't rare, this one does something most don't: it routes your traffic through two different providers: it acts as the 'entry' node, and Mullvad the 'exit'. Neither gets a 'full' profile. It's also made its source code GPLv3, which is nice.

Back to the day job. Been an odd week. Had a wedding and a funeral within a couple of days of each other. The two are not related. Time to get back to normality, or what counts as normal for me.

Calibre has been updated with a “create your own adventure” game, powered by AI. You design a world, create a character and shape the story by your choices to the text (and images) the AI generates. Just what users of a *checks notes* /ebook manager/ will be clamouring for

Have not logged onto my stable #ubuntu laptop for a while. Stable as in running latest release. This laptop holds a draft copy of my Ubuntu membership application, if I ever decide to do that. Anyway time to run some updates I guess. #linux
