Just taxing the rich won't eliminate the Federal Debt, but it's the start to what must happen. I and I think most folks don't want to take all their money, just a "fair share", and frankly I and again I think most folks don't think they are paying a fair share in taxes. Corporations aren't either.

I backed this! The Hex Tiles look great and the cards have many useful ideas and tables. I plan to use the pdf tiles in online games for exploration maps. Now where can I find similar dungeon geomorph tiles for that part of the game?

While it is true that 100% of people who get vaccines die, it is also true that all people who haven't gotten vaccines also die. Unfortunately, many of the unvaccinated die from what they are not vaccinated for and much sooner ! Personally, I'll go with the jab now and death as far off as possible.

6/ There they have come across the entrance to some place deep and dark and long buried underground. Will they explore, or save it for another day?

5/ Once in Jesselton they met a new character and had a night of carousing where they gained some XP and as luck would have it a couple of magic items. The next day the new PC joined them on an herb gathering expedition. They made it to the valley easily.

4/ The other group, let's call them the Guards, made their way from Slateholm to Jesselton. On the way, they paid a bribe to some Barklings to let them pass, fought a bear, and completely wreaked an ambush set by Kobolds!

3/ Now The Rats Group have been hired by the Town, itself, to clean out the rest of these tunnels. They know there's more down there than rats. I hope they haven't bitten off more than the monsters can chew!

2/ The Rats Group found a hole in the basement floor and descended by rope into old, forgotten, tunnels under the town and fought a rat swarm. Injured, but triumphant they climbed back up, covered the hole and took their pay.

🧵 🧵A little about my current Shadowdark game: Standing at the Job Board in the Guild Hall, the party split! One coalesced around a job entailing guard duty for a short trip to a neighboring town while another group decided to deal with a "rat's in the basement" problem reported by a local baker.

As for role playing in the far future, though, Traveller is still my game! Classic Traveller with many enhancements like the 68AC task system and bits and pieces from the many versions that have appeared over the years.

The feel of Shadowdark is decidedly old-school were rulings often trump rules. Anything can be tried, at any time, it's just a matter to be worked out between player and guide. Streamlined and accessible rules, inexpensive costs, lots of fun that's Shadowdark!

Characters can be as complex, or as simple, as the player wants them to be and they all still work with each other. Options are limited only by the player and guide's imagination. New classes are easy to create and although it's not in the book, multi-classing is perfectly possible.

I hear folks say that Shadowdark is only good for dungeon crawls, not so! Yes, it is great for crawls...hex or dungeon, but it works fine for every sort of role play I've thrown at it.

Shadowdark has become my fantasy RPG of choice over the last year. The Free Player's and GM Guides are enough for anyone to get started and the full book with Player, GM, and Monsters included is 1/3 the price of the Big Kahuna.

Oh, I think Gaetz is chickenshit, but he's also vengeful to a fault. If he has any mud he can sling, I expect him to sling it. He will then try to run away from any consequences anything he has ever said or done generate.

If she's been in a nursing home for six months, then she was there when she was re-elected in November. The voters in her district re-elected someone who is in a memory care facility.

Then we wanted the students to read challenging books and articles to make them think, to debated, and reason out their points of view. Now we ban books, stifle debate, and push our own (or the Government's) agendas. Times have changed...

Scared hell out of me, but 3 three Board Members quietly sat down at empty desks, listened to the entire debate and the vote, and left without comment after the class ended. Principal later told me they were impressed by my class' grasp of the issue and said for me to keep up the good work.

This was the deep south. They debated all sorts of things including: the Vietnam War, the ERA amendment, and Roe vs Wade. One Friday, the School Board dropped by the school for an inspection and the class was deep into a debate on Roe vs Wade...abortion really.

I guess times have changed a lot. In 1973, I was teaching Social Studies to 8th graders. On Mondays the class proposed topics and voted on a topic for a debate on Fridays, two teams were elected, and on Fridays they debated, rest of class voted afterwards. I didn't curate the topics at all.

That was 50 years ago, though. The thought of knives or guns being used in a school fight never crossed our minds in those days. There were pickup trucks in the school parking lot with rifles and shotguns in gun racks, but fights were with fists. Things have clearly changed for the worse.

I get your point, though. I waded into a fight my first year of teaching. The Principal advised me "don't do that! You might get hurt, one of them might get hurt, just wait then pull them apart when it calms down." that was 51 years ago. During the years I talk Middle School I still broke up many.

48 years ago, in my 4th year of teaching I was felled by a 12 year old girl in the classroom. Not a fight, not intentional. I was walking along and she swung her purse and caught me in the solar plexus...I went down and the entire room went silent. I recovered and told her to be more careful.

Technically, some of them are Unidentified Flying Objects, but that doesn't make any of them space alien objects. Just as aliens seeking asylum in the US aren't coming from insane asylums...or outer space. What I think is that this is just a distraction from Trump's caca, in all senses of the word.

This was my first introduction to Lord Peter Wimsey, and what an introduction it was! Anyone who enjoys a good mystery should check out all of Dorothy Sayers' Wimsey books, and Harriet Vane, the "tainted" woman he falls for, saves from the noose, and finally wears down until she says yes.

For those who roleplay, but can't find a face-to-face group, playing in forums is an alternative. Unseen Servant is a good site to find games and gamers and offers an eclectic selection of role playing games.

At 14 it was my first foray into Detective Mystery stories and started a life long interest. BTW, I can no more envision Holmes without seeing Jeremy Brett than I can envision Poirot without seeing David Suchet.

Bless your heart! To make tea, you put a cup of sugar and several teabags in a qallon jar, leave the jar out in the sun for several hours, stir it, and put in the fridge. That how you make tea! Oh, and you pour the cold tea into a tall glass over ice cubes. Yep, that's how you make tea!

The silliness of Wodehouse can't help but make you laugh. Someone needs to create a role playing game where there are two Classes: Gentlemen and Gentlemen's Gentlemen and all the plots are Wodehousian nonsense!

Ah, come on that's pretty normal! ;) The temperatures in the South ride a roller coaster from November to the end of December going from 70's to 50's and back again. Days then get (what we call) cold for Jan & Feb before going back on the roller coaster again...until it gets HOT...in May!

I first read Asimov's youth science books, mostly sitting in the library while in Junior High school. I then moved on to "I Robot" and the "Foundation" trilogy. I had to go back and reread years later to really get everything Asimov was writing.

I was 23 when I first got D&D. Frankly, I didn't fully understand the rules, but I did understand the intent...or my intent anyway. Just enough rules to prevent the "I shot you!", "No you didn't!" of children's imagination games. Cooperative Story-telling for the win!

I was 12 and I discovered Juvenile Sports Books, specifically John Tunis. I basically lived in the School Library for that whole year. I even forged passes to get in at lunch, reading over eating! Then the Librarian handed me Citizen of the Galaxy and The Hobbit and said, you might like these too.

That is so beautiful, so beautiful! I remember my Mother's last smile. She sat in a chair, I held her hands and I danced with her to the music of Glenn Miller. She could no longer speak, or stand, but she could still feel joy in the moment. Cherish each moment with your Mother and hold her close.
