For this uncertain #Canadian winter, for a #happiness story in the #globeandmail, I called up William Larkham, Jr who outlasted his mostly American competitors to win the reality wilderness show #Alone. I gleaned wisdom from our chat, and I hope you will too. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

Last June, the #GlobeandMail went searching for underused federal land good for #housing with our project Wasted Space. We found 613 parcels across the country - enough to potentially create #housing for 750,000 Canadians. See if your community has some here. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

The #CanadaPublicLandBank now has properties in every province, except #PEI. Plus in #Yukon and the #NorthwestTerritories. Listing them is easy - turning them into housing will be harder. But if you want to see what's available in your city or town, you can search here: www.canada.ca/en/public-se...

In my #NovaScotia home town, people wave at passing drivers, walking past someone without a greeting would be plain rude. Yet in the city we do it all the time. What happens when I say good morning in my urban neighborhood to everyone I meet? Smiles and #happy good mornings in return every time.

We are giving our beloved #dogs more meds than ever before. This #GlobeandMail story about the "miracle" arthritis drug Librela is a heartbreaking reminder to ask vets about all possible side effects so you can watch for them and make an informed decision. www.theglobeandmail.com/business/art...

I write about happiness for #globeandmail so I might have to pitch a trip to Copenhagen, a city so confident that newcomers will happily stay forever that they can get "quality of life insurance" to cover a free trip outta there. www.thelocal.de/20241028/why...

Why is the Greater Copenhagen Region offering new arrivals ‘life quality insurance’?

Those arriving in the Greater Copenhagen Region can't stop talking about their move - and the region is so sure you'll love living and working there, that they're making a very special offer.
