Bars of shadow, water beyond. Someone passing through, unaware of the frame they just entered. #photography #nikon #zf #voigtlander #bnw #blackandwhite #shadowplay #shadow #geometry #waterfront #lines #streetphotography #street #silhouette #urban #minimal #frankfurt

Black-and-white photograph taken through metal railings. Bold diagonal shadows of the railing bars fall across a concrete surface in the foreground. Beyond the railing, a sunlit waterfront promenade with brick paving. A solitary figure walks along the promenade, casting a long shadow. Glittering light reflects off water in the upper portion of the frame.

eyesore - #photography #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography #bnwphotography #photographersofbluesky #blueskyartshow #street #streetphotography #symmetry

A businessman in a dark suit walks past a spotless, bright facade. The sidewalk appears just as spotless and clean. Only on the dark windowpane of a shop window is there a white bird dropping, which catches the businessman's eye. The bird dropping destroys the perfect world through which the perfect businessman moves.

Black and white. Portrait format. The photographer kneels in the wheel tracks of a tractor in a wheat field. The camera is positioned at ground level. The plants are waist-high. It feels like being in a gorge, bordered on the left and right by dark plants. The dry, light-colored soil stretches into the distance as a thin line. In the middle of this gorge, a single cloud drifts by, contrasting sharply with the sky.

Darkness carries the light - #photography #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography #bnwphotography #photographersofbluesky #blueskyartshow #stunday #backlight #silhouette #frankfurt #nikon #zf #nikonzf #street #streephotography

Black and white. Portrait format. Backlit. Urban scene with low pov. Photographed from a dark location against the light. Two people, presumably a couple, walk out of the dark atmosphere through a passageway into the glaring light and appear as silhouettes. The gray to black cobblestone floor and the solid dark walls surrounding the passageway intensify the scene and contribute to the atmosphere.

Listen to Schiller - #photography #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography #bnwphotography #photographersofbluesky #blueskyartshow #blackandwhite #monochrome #street #streetphotography #frankfurt #leica #dlux8 #dlux #urban #schiller #statue #skyscraper

With the German Bank behind him, Friedrich Schiller's statue gives life advice to a young man of questionable social status sitting on a bench in front of him in the Taunusanlage, Frankfurt's green lung and “formerly” the site of an open drug scene near the main train station.

Just as the picture thrives on visual contrasts, the rear elevated level (Deutsche Bank) also represents a strong contrast in terms of content to the front lower level (young man of questionable social status at a problematic focal point). The middle level (statue of Friedrich Schiller) mediates, both visually and in terms of content.

Does the dark wall of the trees have a protective effect? If so, who does it protect and in which direction should it protect? Or does it hinder and make things impossible? In any case, Deutsche Bank, Schiller and the young man are connected characterized by similar tonal values. Well, and Schiller is on the side of the young man.
