The closure of Madera Community Hospital two years ago left an entire county without an emergency room for adults and flooded neighboring counties with patients. Today, it is reopening to patients.

This #CentralValley town passed a resolution calling itself a #welcomingcity for all as the #Trump administration targets #sanctuarycities. Madera has a large community of #immigrants from #LatinAmerica who perform the work for the Valley's multi-billion-dollar #agriculture industry.
