My fantasy football team, the Palm Peach Pillaging Piglins, was due for a new name and a new mascot. I've been playing a lot of Minecraft with the kids lately, and this just came to me.

A human-piggie hybrid, the Piglins' mascot appears to be big guy, not a little guy, maybe the biggest, smartest guy, with glowing, golden blonde hair, and glistening, golden earrings. It has been MANY years since I last read through the entirety of the Akira manga. I have been going through the collected volumes, hoping to jumpstart my motivation and break out of this creative funk. I'm really appreciating the lettering/sound effects this time! 😆

Finally worked a drawing from start to finish in CSP. I'm just trying to learn the tools and climb out of the void. This is the first time I have ever used Daub's pencils, inks, washes, and watercolors. If anyone is thinking about picking them up, particularly enjoyed the ink and wash brushes!

Keep hoping we'll get higher resolution versions of Ducati's GP26 launch pictures, but so far, it seems like the largest images anyone is sharing are 1200x800ish. I like the matte/glass red finish and the racing stripes. We're getting closer to the first tests!

I was still very much into the Akira US releases in 1990, but I'm not too proud to admit that I had fallen under the spell of Todd McFarlane's fun on Spider-Man when I was 13.

The famous, maybe infamous, silver variant cover of Todd McFarlane's Spirder-Man number 1. Spider-Man is crouched low in a dark version of his traditional red/blue outfit, his left arm extended forward with his left hand in a strange and awkward position.
